Page 1 of is this wharfdale any good?

Wharfedale DVD3210DVX DVD Player with DIVX.

now only £34.99 from Argos.

I am tempted to get it, at least if there are problems I can just take it back to the shop.
Has anyone had any experience with this player?

It`s been recalled!

I had problems with it - really bad problems. It would throw up a black screen at random when playing DivX and Xvid files which played perfectly on my home P.C.

I rang the Argos helpline and was told it had been recalled. I took it back with the receipt and they gave me a full refund. If you didn`t keep the receipt, point out that it`s an Argos-exclusive item and only appeared in their catalogue a few months ago. The Wharfdale model is no longer on the Argos website.

With my refund, I bought the Chili "Style 630-X" from Maplin and I haven`t looked back. It plays anything. If you put a saucepan lid in it, it`d probably give you gravy.
