RE: £5.00 Amazon Gift Certificate ...going free

Damn I missed out :-(
Was gonna pre-order Starfox Adventures for GC

Weirdly the Amazon.co.uk error message says:

"This gift certificate has already been applied to your account. If you wish to use this balance towards your purchase, please leave this field blank."

Philips Wireless TV Sender

My local Tesco Extra in Irlam are flogging the Philips Wireless TV sender sets (1 sender, 1 reciever, 2 scart leads etc) for half-price, just £49.99. That has to be a bargain compared to the normal £90 price tag i`ve seen else where.

They had plenty left last night. Not sure if it is a nationwide offer.

Tested out the it briefly last night, worked great, sends signal from source and sends remote ignals back from to source flawlessly. Allows two inputs to be plugged in to the sender. Inputs have manual switch on front of box - not sure if it will flick over automatically with SCART signal.

RE: ??Amazon Gift Certificates??

So how do you recommend a friend on the UK website? Or has it really been removed? (don`t blame `em!)

I`ve just spent 5 minutes sniffing around the site and searching on it.

RE: Help decide for which 36

I`ve been a happy owner of the 36" of silver for a year now. It`s truley a perfect box - pricey, but perfect :o)

The progressive scan only works with NTSC input mind, but I have it hooked up to my Pioneer 737 DVD player so it`s fine with region 1 DVDs.

Try contacting the sales guy @ www.mailuk.com for a good price too.

RE: PS2 and Metal Gear Solid 2 £169.99 @ Argos

x-box comes with Halo and Project Gotham for cheaper... i think m$ have already beaten it then? (as much as I hate them to)

RE: Free DVD

Neat. Pitty the only good movie I already have (What Lies Beneath).

I don`t see why Fox would not follow up their offer by actually sending it out?

RE: Lord of The Rings Widescreen so cheap you`d poke your eyes out!

I`ve just got a reply:

"Dear DVD.Com Customer,

Bugger. Anybody gonna fight for any right?

Lord of The Rings Widescreen so cheap you`d poke your eyes out!

Yes this has to be the deal of the week. "Lord of The Rings" (Region 1) Widescreen DVD, 2 disc box for only $0.75!!!!!

No scam (well not much). Postage to UK is $2.99 per disc. As the LOTR film is 2 discs they charge $2.99 x 2 (bit of a con eh?)

So in total the film costs about £4 including delivery. Still a bargain!

Where to get it from? Hmm, well it`s a secret - but try http://www.dvd.com/product_movies.asp?type=movie&productnumber=40059 ;-)

RE: Birthday Girl £7.50

Doesn`t that usually mean crap soundtrack and lack of additional features?

RE: Its not DVD,but booze(equally important!)

I`m not lazy enough to shop on-line (yet!). I was just wondering around Asda and saw the offer - the shelfs were empty apart from a few remaining crates of Grolsch and one of Caffreys.

Anyway, seems I must have been dribbling pi**ed when I originally posted on the thread. It was crates of 12 not 24. But the price is only £7.98 (or 3 for £20) rather than £8.99 like I originally said for some reason?! :o)

I found the offer on-line - it`s a multibuy. Click on the "Special Offers" tab, "more offers" and then look for the Beers, Wines and Spirits->"3 for £20 Refresh" offer.

RE: Its not DVD,but booze(equally important!)

24 pack of Grolsch only £8.99 at Asda. Or 3 for £20. You can even mix-n-match with Carling, Caffreys etc. too IIRC.

RE: Night Of The Living Dead DVD just pay £1.50 for packaging.

Hasn`t this offer been mentioned before?
I got my copy months ago - didn`t realise the offer was still going.

It is worth noting that if you do not order any others full-price DVDs at the same time then the NOTLD DVD only gets provided in a mailout box - not a proper plastic case.

I used an AOL trial CD case to put it in and the downloaded the cover for it ;o)

RE: Video Sender @ Toys-R-Us £49.99!

Have you got a URL to the item - or could you tell me what keyword you used in the search on the http://www.toysrus.co.uk website?

I cannot seem to find it on there!!

RE: FREE Sony J70 with FREE 12 Months Line Rental

All Orange contracts allow you to change it down to a better one after the first month.
Unless there is some weird condition?

I got the Carphone Warehouse deal, phone + tv-set at xmas,
I swapped the Talk60 to Everyday50 which is much better suited for me.

RE: psone £49 quid!!

Pitty the graphics quality of the Playstation is so damn bad on my 36" screen. Was playing on my old PSX which skips a lot today. The games looked so visually bad it was sad! All chunky.... :(

RE: coupling series 2

Coupling series 2 has just started a re-run on Monday nights, BBC2, 9:30pm. Just incase anybody is interested, and missed it tonight ;o)

RE: Five pounds off @ BOL.com!!

I`ve already used this, but one of you guys might like to give it a try too:

The Coupon Code is: cs047F7LOZ-QP9EA-ADH9K
The expiry date of this new coupon is: Midnight 17-05-02
The coupon is valid against: All www.uk.bol.com Products
The coupon value is: £7.50

This came direct from BOL, not EGG.

RE: Five pounds off @ BOL.com!!

@Bill Carr:

My £7.50 voucher was from BOL direct. Biggest discount I ever had!
Damn, forgot to look up the code I used - still got the email in my deleted items at work.

Free nokia 3330 + Sharp VCR or Philips Micro HiFi or Grundig DVD

Drove past Martin Dawes tonight in Warrington and saw a big board which claimed free DVD player or VCR + Widescreen TV! I got home and checked the website but the advert is slightly different and only mentions a free dvd player or vcr or micro hifi, based on the contract you take out.

The board outside the shop which mentioned the widescreen tv + vcr was on condition that you subscribe to a one2one contract for 12 months to get the gift. The advert on the website is for the Orange network. Maybe best to call the number and get the answer if you are interested!

http://www.martindawes.com/ has the advert on the front page.

RE: Five pounds off @ BOL.com!!

I got a £7.50 voucher yesterday :o]

BOL isn`t cheap for DVDs, but the books are sometimes cheaper than Amazon, and in the case of getting £7.50 off I bought the "PHP & MySQL Web Development" book yesterday.

I doubt the code can be used by multiple people - it seems to non-generic (such as MAYOFF1B type of code). I can post the £7.50 voucher code here later when my mailbox is available again from the server. Then maybe sombody can try it out.

RE: Who here`s going to the Reading or Leeds festival this summer?

RE: "Ring" on C4 tomorrow nite

What the heck is it?

RE: The Abyss (2 disc special edition) under £10.00

Just thought i`d mention that it`s a region 1 DVD too.

Pretty good 2-disc set though (2 versions of the film in widescreen). Boughti t last year.

RE: Pace Digital TV adaptor

I`m using my old Pioneer "onDigital" box and can pick up e4 and FilmFour still....

RE: ex-itv Digital viewers : Sky installed for a £1 (some conditions)

I heard that the box connects back to the central Sky servers about 4 days before the end of the month. All channels and PPV events you`ve been watching are stored in some non-volatile memory in the STB. This information is then downloaded to the servers, for market research.

Or something like that anyway :) You can get more info at http://www.x-digital.co.uk

RE: R2 DVD`s - Best On Line Shopping Sites....

www.futureent.com are the cheapest and fastest in my experience. Delivery is free and prices much better than dvdboxoffice.com !

Also check out www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk for a nice way to compare prices amongst all the mentioned sites.

RE: HMV new sale....

According to the www.hmv.co.uk website it is only FilmFour DVDs in the buy one get one free campaign?

RE: ex-itv Digital viewers : Sky installed for a £1 (some conditions)

If you don`t subscribe to Skydigital, and instead just pay £100 installation - what channels can you pick up?

I`m guessing all them digital radio channels are available for free. What else?

Oh, and what is the cheapest TV package from Sky digital, after the first month?

I`ve been watching ITVdigital for free for over a year :o)

RE: Brass Eye Special

£15 for a single TV Show episode is a bit steep me thinks.
