RE: The Dark Knight Rises: Batman 3

Watched it this morning. Good film. Not sure if it`s the best of the 3, but visually & cinematography, it was top notch.

Bane`s voice is really clear at times, then not so clear at others. The music at times drowned out even some of the other actors voices when talking, but overall, well worth seeing. I thought Hardy & Hathaway were great at Bane & Catwoman.

My only really neg comment, was that there was not enough of Batman in the film.

Got a nice teaser trailer/snippet of Man of Steel before the film began. Interesting to see how that is done.

RE: Christmas Songs You`re NOT Sick Of

Gary Glitter "Rock N`Roll Christmas"

All time classic from the original leader of the gang! (I am)

RE: Is it true a Gigso entered celibrity Big Brother house?

Obi Wan Ewan rumor is not true. Thats was people putting 2 and 2 and getting 5.

Downton Abbey is where all the action is at! ;)

RE: Is it true a Gigso entered celibrity Big Brother house?

A gigso 100% definately entered Imogens Big house

I also heard that Hugh Bonneville, who is known to fellow thespians as the Ryan Giggs of the showbusiness world, after the famously family-orientated footballer, also invited Wayne Rooneys paid associate into his Downton Abbey!

RE: The Official Manchester United 2010/11 Season Thread.

I hope now that the league record has been beaten, Fergie will retire. Obviously wait until after Barcelona spank them in the CL Final, but now he has won everything, broke the `pools record, go gracefully (if he can) and let us all enjoy a Fergie Free premiership.

Utopia.......

RE: Star Wars on Blu Ray 2011

I too was expecting a bit more. Once they announce all the other content, i`m sure it will be fine.

£64.00?? Where you ordered your`s from?

Price wise, 9 x SW disc set for around £70, or 15 x LOTR disc set for £55. :/

RE: The Official Manchester United 2010/11 Season Thread.

Nice to see it when you get a good UK ref, a fair ref to both sides, that they send off a nasty piece of work.

Another nail in the coffin of Man U`s decline from power. One down, two to go (and loose) :D

RE: The Official MANCHESTER UNITED & Charity Shield winners 2010/11 Season Thread.

Invincibles: Arsenal in the 2003-2004 season going unbeaten for all 38 games.Their final record for the 2003-2004 league campaign stood at 26 wins, 12 draws and 0 losses, out of 38 games total, an unbeaten run not matched in any single season by any team in an English league division

Oh To, Oh To Be, Oh To Be A Gooner :D :D :D :D

RE: The official Liverpool 10/11 Season Thread

Definately NOT a penalty, but Fergie reckons it was, so it must be. According to "he who must not be crossed or fined by any Football authority", Berbasloth is not that kind of player! B[at].skcoll He`s as bad as the rest of them.

I was saying during the game that this country`s so called "best referee" must be wearing red Aon under his top, and bugger me, i`ve just seen that Ryan Babel posted on twitter an image of Webb wearing a scumbag shirt. Priceless :)

Babel deserves a medal,not a fine or a suspension.

I`m old enough to remember when we hated them even more than the Mancs so let`s hope a stuffing is in the offing.

Snaps

Not a vintage performance, but we did not loose, so i guess we should be happy?

Arshavin again was poor. I`d personally offload him. He just does not seem up for it /
interested or whatever you want to call it? Been like it for sometime now.
He may have a few assists and goals, but we can`t keep playing him in the hope that for a 20 second burst, he pulls out some magic. He also seems to stuggle bigtime when one on one with a goalie!

RE: The official Arsenal 10/11 Season Thread

Good performance tonight, especially when you look at Brums home record (1 loss in 29 matches before tonight).

Fabregas back to his best as well. Jockeying nicely behind the top two, ready to push on and snatch it on the final stretch :D :D

RE: The official Arsenal 10/11 Season Thread

Yet again they went from being fantastic against Chelsea to frustrating against Wigan >:(

Won`t get much change out of B`ham or Sheikty next week. At least we should have a "full" team out againt Brum (i hope!)

RE: The official Arsenal 10/11 Season Thread

3-1 :) :) :)

Watch out Fergie, the "boys" are on your "men`s" tail.

RE: New Freeview box required...What`s good and what`s bad?

I`m after a standard definition system as i do not have HD TV.

I never thought about replacing the drive on the box. I might look into that before laying out another few hundred quid on a new box.

Is the H/Drive the same as what you find in a PC and how would i replace it? (not very techy with these sort of things)

New Freeview box required...What`s good and what`s bad?

My current Goodmans Freeview + box is on its way out. Keeps freezing and rebooting on a daily basis. Pain in the backside when recording programs.
I know these "problems" are pretty common with most Freeview boxes, but was hoping you fine people could probably suggest or recomend a new box.

Needs to be Twin tunner, Hard drive / DVD recordable. Prefer 14 day planner, but 7 would not be a problem.

Cheers

RE: Star Wars on Blu Ray 2011

The versions being released on Blu Ray will be the 1997 Special Editions / 2005 DVD clean up versions.

There will be a lot of extras, including many deleted scenes not seen before in any format.

I have every format since the original Widescreen VHS versions of the early 90`s, so i guess i`ll be getting this as well. Need to get myself a blu ray player (or PS3) to play them on though.

Star Wars on Blu Ray 2011

The Star Wars saga will at long last be released in a high-definition home video format as all six movies come to Blu-Ray in a Box Set in Fall 2011, as announced by George Lucas this morning at Celebration V. At the fan convention`s Main Event, thousands of Star Wars fans braved the muggy heat of an Orlando morning to queue for a one-time only stage session between George Lucas and The Daily Show`s Jon Stewart. Stewart asked Lucas questions submitted from the fan community, and one of the most frequently asked questions submitted online prior to the Main Event was about the saga`s release on Blu-Ray.
"I wish I could say it was coming out this year," said Lucas, "but it will come out next year."

The set will feature all six live-action Star Wars feature films, with the highest picture and audio quality, along with extensive special features.
Star Wars fans were treated to a glimpse of bonus material, in the form of a long-lost deleted scene from Return of the Jedi. The scene has long been talked about online -- a sequence that depicts Luke Skywalker assembling his new, green-bladed lightsaber prior to infiltrating Jabba the Hutt`s palace. After completing the Jedi weapon, Luke stashes it in R2-D2`s dome. What makes the Jedi deleted clip so remarkable is that it made it all the way to postproduction before it was cut, so it is a rare example of a cut scene with completed visual effects and music.

Actor Mark Hamill came out to describe the scene, remarking that once again his original introduction in a Star Wars film was cut out (his Anchorhead introduction was, of course, cut from A New Hope). Luke`s intro is purposely played as ominous, with his face cowled in shadows and his intentions unclear."I had the black cloak, the glove, and I thought, wow, this time around I get to be the antagonist. Little did I know I was predicting the path of the prequels," said Hamill, noting the similarities to Luke in this scene and Anakin Skywalker`s appearance.

Missing Scene (may not appear for long):

RE: Sky HD - Should I cancel?

SKY HD will become free from November/December.

They are allowing Virgin to undercut them by £3 (so £7 instead of £10) to help Virgin build up a client base for HD, and to make people think they are getting a good deal compared to Sky. Then before Xmas, Sky are waiving the £10 for HD, and having the half a dozen or so 3D cusomers pay £10 for that service instead!
That service will soon die off when they realise that the vast majority of people are not really interested in 3D tv.

RE: Gus and Duncan`s Comprehensive Guide to Star Wars Collectibles Hardcover

Looks like a great book, but the shipping is nearly as much as the book.
According to some Euro collectors, you can order 2 books, and get them delivered for the same price as one book.

I don`t have the first G & D book, but i do have the Kellerman, which is an excellent read. :)

RE: England vs Germany

Was the reason they played so poorly due to a scandal involving an england captain, his wife`s sister and a baby by any chance?

High court gagging order in place for 14 days, so watch this space....

RE: IVA Question

I believe that once you are in an IVA, you can not leave it and return to Debt management. You have taken out a County Court agreeded repayment scheme, so if it was to be broken, you will effectively be declared bankrupt, which is the last thing you want.
Taking all your left over money seems harsh, as they do need to leave you with funds to survive. Kids dancing classes will be seen as a luxury, and i believe they will ask for them to be stopped if you are paying for them.

I am pretty clued up on this kind of stuff, but your situation is a tad complicated, being in limbo with work and the wife living elsewhere. Best advice i can give is talk to CAB, and get them to look at your situation. They will be best at letting you know your options.

Good luck!

RE: IVA Question

It is best to speak to CAB, or your IVA supervisor. This is from the debt free website:

Quote:
Any redundancy lump sum is a windfall and the terms of your IVA proposal will spell out how such a windfall is to be treated. You will normally be required to contribute the full amount of any windfall into your IVA. However, given that this is a redundancy payment, your supervisor should be able to convene a Meeting of Creditors to determine how much of it (if any) you will be required to pay into the IVA. Your supervisor will quickly seek to determine the extent of the changes in your circumstances, particularly your loss of income

Quote:
In a nutshell then, a redundancy lump sum is a windfall and you will not be allowed to keep any part of it without the express permission of your creditors. However, inform your supervisor of your new circumstances and it may be that it will lead to a happy ending for you as well as for your creditors.

RE: IVA Question

You must inform the IVA people about your work situation. They will then re look at your finances and get you to pay what is "reasonable" within your budget. They are not like the CSA who demand what you don`t have. They can only take disposable income once everything else has been paid and taken.

They basically go back to your creditors and ask for a reduced payment until such time you can contribute more into the IVA fund.If you do get a pay off from the job, the IVA will expect most,if not all to be contributed towards the fund.

Regarding a Holiday, they may look at that as a luxury, but if you have a monthly amount set aside for holidays on your income/expenditure sheet, then you may be ok.

Note: If you do have reduced payments, then they may request an extension of 12 months onto the 5 year term, so you will be paying 72 months, not 60.
If you are able to remortage your house after the 4th year (as per the usual IVA terms)and place any equity available into the fund, this could prevent the 6th year.

Good luck with it all

RE: Are Fabregas (and possibly Torres) disgraces?

As a big Gooner`s fan, i will be disapointed if Fab leaves. He certainly does not seem the sort be be money driven, and he has always gave 110% for the team.

Just wish the club / Wenger could have brought in some quality / tougher type players before now and really made a go at the League or get to a final these last few seasons.

Given the terrible injury list last season, its amazing Arsenal were atill in the title race with around 3 weeks to go. Just imagine what it could have been like had the team be fit and firing on all cylinders?

I can`t blame Fab for wanting to "better" himself by rejoing Barca, and i hope if he does get sold, the Aresnal accept no less than £50 million for him. Anything less and Barca have a bargain player who has yet to reach full potential in my opinion.

Fingers crossed he stays one more season, but all the best to him if he does get sold. Real pleasure to have watched him play in the red and white.

RE: Liverpool 09/10 Season Thread

Bad luck tonight. The usual daft Rafa substitutions again.

As an Arsenal fan, i was wondering why it is the media are obsessed with Wenger not winning any silverware in 4 seasons, and yet Rafa has won nothing for Liverpool since 2006, and this seems go unmentioned?
Given the money Arsenal have spent compared to Liverpool, i`d say that it should be Rafa who is bombarded with continual questions over silverware and success.

RE: Doctor Who: The Next Regeneration...

"Broadsword this is dannyboy" call sign is a complete rip off from "Where Eagles Dare."

Tut Tut BBC.

Spitfire`s in space? whatever next? A humpback whale that is needed to save the earth perhaps?

Nice to see my TV fee is funding this trival. >:(

Does it take Micro SDHC cards? If so (as opposed to the lower capacity Micro SD)

Yes it does take the Micro SDHC card, and the packaging from MemoryBits is the sames as advertised on the website you linked to http://www.r4ds.com

Looks like a clone then :/

Here`s me thinking a clone was a member of the Republic Army :D

RE: HELP! Nintendo DS R4 card query...

It is a genuine R4 card but i have managed, by a process of elimination, that the R4 card is no good. Put the SD card in another R4 and it worked. Tried the SD in mine, no good.
I think when installed the firmware update, it said it was for the R4 DS, but it appears to be a R4 DSi firmware. Whatever it was, it`s frazzled the R4 card. >:(

I`ve just ordered a new one from Memorybits.

Cheers for all the advice guys. :)

RE: HELP! Nintendo DS R4 card query...

Formatted the card, but unfortunately i don`t have the old firmware. Made a big mistake in not saving all the relevant files for the card when moving stuff off and updating with new firmware. I misseed off a couple of files and now am buggered! >:(

I`ve tried version 1.18 / 1.19 / 1.23 / 1.24 / 1.26 and none of them work.

HELP! Nintendo DS R4 card query...

My wife has an original R4 card for the Nintendo DS.

I decided to update the firmware for the SDHC card (she`d been having trouble playing the newer games). I downloaded the latest version 1.26, and it seemed fine. I got the basic
menu screen working no problem. However, when i put back onto the SD card the games she had been playing, the card would not load up. The only thing that appeared was "loading" logo. So, i deleted the games off, and tried the card again, but this time no start up menu :/

I am at a loss as to what to do next. The wife is non pleased at the thought of all her game saves being lost. Any ideas how to get the thing working again?

Cheers
