RE: Liteon VW5026 - No Nicam Stereo Tuner?

Hi,

Can you please check if the Lite-On is (or can be made) multi-region and will convert NTSC to PAL? (I have a PAL TV)

Also, does anyone have views as to how this machine compares with the LG rh7500? I had almost decided that I was going for the LG, but this looks good too with a comparable spec (except for DivX) and lower price.

Cheers !!

RE: DivX DVD player - New offer at LIDL from Monday 17 Oct

Have been following this player since July. Havent seen anyone who has yet been able to make it region-free. . . . . .

RE: TEVION 160GB DIGITAL DVD/HDD RECORDER £229.99

Hi,

A Tevion 160GB HDD recorder was launched in Aldi on Sept 1st for 229. Although it had very good featuers, I read on forums that its editing capabilities were absolutely useless. Hence, I decided not to buy. dunno if ure talking abt the same machine

Cheers !

RE: Tevion DVD Recorders

Hi,

I used to have the recorder (110 pounds) without hard disk. It doesnt play Divx. Mine stopped working after 4 months, hence I returned it. Excellent returns policy, I must say. was a pretty fine machine for its price, but its remote had to be exactly in line, or else it wouldnt work.

The 230 pound machine with hard disk seems to have excellent features and it plays DivX too. However, I have read on other forums that the editing features on it are non existent, hence I didnt buy it,

RE: FRIENDS BOXSETS

oh ! I guess it makes sense to buy the Digipacks then ! they`ll take much less space too, I guess ! Thank you for the info !

RE: FRIENDS BOXSETS

hi !
Can u please tell me the difference between the ` Friends Series . . .Combo pack` and the `Friends Series . . .Digipack`, cos the Digipack seems to be costing much less than the combo pack on Australian DVD sites.(eg. DeVoteD.com.au)

Thanks !

RE: £9.99 TITLES STILL AVAILABLE AT PC WORLD ONLINE

Shrek probably wont be 2-disc, cos its Reg 2. Only the Reg 1 Shrek is 2-disc and has a DTS soundtrack.

RE: £9.99 TITLES STILL AVAILABLE AT PC WORLD ONLINE

`The Contender` seems to be available. Anyone have an idea whether it is worth 10 quid?

RE: £9.99 TITLES STILL AVAILABLE AT PC WORLD ONLINE

Which ones did u find? Were they available???

RE: AINT NO BARGAIN LIKE THIS ONE

I think the offer at DeVoTed is better !! http://www.devoted.com.au/
They have most of the above titles for 2 for AUD 38 including free shipping !!!!!! (of course, with the cheap shipping option)
u`ll be spending AUD10 more at DVD Crave for shipping !!
My `The Rock` and `Gone in 60 seconds` has been shipped for £14.1 including shipping !!!!!

RE: Fast and The Furious - £11

Good find !! Does this work on all DVDs? cos u can get this title cheaper at DeVoted at AU$ 30.04 as agianst AU$32.23 at DVDCrave with discount. This is if u use the cheap shipping option at DeVoted ($3.5)

RE: DDDhouse - beware of customs.

RE: A good place for CD-Rs

The cheapest place I have seen on the Net for most media is
http://www.pricebuster.org.uk/WebPages/Pricebuster.htm
They have the TDK reflex for £ 0.45 and there is no minimum amount to buy. And if u have a store near u, u can buy there with a print-out of advertised prices and save on shipping. I used the shop in Manchester for DV tapes (£27.5 for 10 Panasonic DV tapes) and MDs (10 TDK 80s for £8.9)
For the range of products put up, I think they have the lowest prices I have seen in the UK.

RE: DDDHouse Question.........

got stung by customs on an order from DDD !! :(

my order of 4 DVDs totalled to around 26 pounds and was marked as gift, etc. but I still got a bill of 6 (+3.5 by Royal Mail) from customs !!

Is there anything I can do? or just pay up and sulk :((( . . . .

RE: bollywood dvd uk retailers???

Jai,
The cheapest place to buy Bollywood DVDs over the Net that I have found is -
www.indiaweekly.com
I normally order around 5 - 6 DVDs at a time and have got stung by customs only once ! Make sure u keep ur order below 6 DVDs at all times. I have ordered around 70 - 80 DVDs from them and always got excellent service.

http://www.indiancdstore.com/ is another competent supplier, but I have never used them.

I have only 2 - 3 titles purchased in the UK.

Hope this helps !!

RE: bollywood dvd uk retailers???

oops ! sorry ! misunderstood ur question !

RE: bollywood dvd uk retailers???

I think u might be looking for this.

http://www.bollywooddvd.co.uk/

have never ordered from them, but have heard that they have good service !

http://www.indiandvdfilms.com/ is another supplier, but UK suppliers are normally over-priced !!

RE: Has anyone purchased Lagaan

The film is excellent, but the DVD could have been better. Also, there is no menu option for playing songs.

check out www.indiaweekly.com of US for some of the best prices on Indian DVDs. works out much cheaper than buying in the UK if ordering 3 - 4 titles at a time !!

RE: dvdchips.co.uk

I too can vouch for Steve. got my Panasonic PV55 made region free in 15 minutes, with his `no chip` upgrade, and it works fine !

RE: DVD Box Office Sale

oops ! they seem to have Part 1 for over 12 quid. U can get it for a tenner at Devoted(Reg 4), though ! Can anyone recommend which of these movies are worth a buy?

DVD Box Office Sale

I got `Men of Honour` SE in their sale a few weeks back for 7.73 pounds. Now they`ve got Superman 2 and 4 for 7.58 each, which seem to be the cheapest around. They also have Superman 1 SE for just over a tenner !

RE: Panasonic PV 55 upgrade to multi region?

got my player upgraded by Steve on Saturday. took 15 minutes, no chipping and I can confirm my player now plays Reg 1,2,3,4 and 0.

Cool job, Steve !!

Cheers !

RE: Panasonic PV 55 upgrade to multi region?

Thanks,
actually I have been in touch with Steve at DVD Chips, but he doesnt remember having done the mod on this specific model, cos he handles so many of them. so I was wondering if anyone has done the mod on their machine and faced any problems, hassles?

Panasonic PV 55 upgrade to multi region?

Has anyone tried to upgrade the Panasonic PV 55 (portable, no screen) to multi-region? If yes, from where and is it possible to upgrade it completely, ie. play RCE, macrovision off, etc.? Any problems encountered?

Thanks !!

RE: Dan the Man !

Thanks, Dan, for the clear analysis of the issue.
should we use the letter on the site given by Clayts http://www.richardruane.co.uk/ as a reference? Or do u suggest a different draft?

RE: Shawshank Redemption only £4.99 at MVC sale!!

Hi !
could u please post the link to the page? cos I searched on their site and found the DVD at £7.99. DVDStreet have it for £9.49. I thought it was the same company ????

RE: RegionFree Sanyo 7201/9201 Solution Found!

does the hack work for RCE titles as well?
