Two Cops. Glover carries a weapon..... Gibson is one
    Certificate: 18
    Running Time: 105 mins
    Retail Price: £15.99
    Release Date:

    Synopsis:
Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) is no ordinary cop. He`s a Mad Max gone maniacal, a man whose killing expertise and suicidal recklessness make him a Lethal Weapon to anyone he works against. Or with.

Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) is an easygoing homicide detective with a loving family, a big house and a pension he doesn`t want to lose. Imagine Murtaugh`s shock when he learns his partner is a guy with nothing left to lose: wild-eyed, burnt-out Martin Riggs.

Lethal Weapon is the thrill-packed story of two Vietnam-vets-turned-cops who have just one other thing in common: both hate to work with partners. But partnership becomes the key to survival when a routine murder investigation leads to all-out, take-no-prisoners, martial-arts-and-machine-guns war with an international heroin ring.

Director Richard Donner (Conspiracy Theory, Leathal Weapon 4)moves that war at two speeds: fast and faster. Hot L.A. days and nights explode in one show-stopping scene after another, culminating in a no-holds-barred battle between Riggs and his Angel-of-Death nemesis (Gary Busey) - an electrifying sequence incorporating three martial-art styles and requiring four full nights to film. Fierce, fast and frequently funny, Lethal Weapon fires off round after round of can`t-miss entertainment.

This is my favourite one out of the four that are made.
The story in this movie is great with a good combination of comedy, drama and action.
the picture quality is very good, considering it is a 13 year old movie. The sound is also very good, but don`t expect a lot of surround effects. The front and center speakers mostly do all the work.

This Movie is more than great. It is amazing and is one of my favourite movies of all time. Mel Gibson stars as Martin Riggs who is a cop that has a death wish and is "on the edge." Danny Glover stars as Roger Murtaugh who is a detective with a big family and at the start of the movie on his Birthday he learns that he is assigned with a new partner called Martin Riggs. Also during his birthday he learns that an old friend`s daughter jumped out a window and himself and Riggs are assigned to the case. During the movie there is a lot of action and most of the movie is very funny as well. In one scene, Riggs tries to stop a man from jumping off a building but then handcuffs himself to the man and jumps off! and there is a whole lot of other great scenes as well. The bad guys in this movie are a good laugh in some scenes. This DVD is fantastic and although there is no extra features, because of the movie I would give it a 10/10 anytime.

This is a great movie. It is much darker than the other 3 (especially 3 and 4) Lethal Weapon outings. The story is excellent, and both Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are outstanding as the mismatched cops Riggs and Murtaugh. Long may the magic continue.

Video and audio quality are pretty good considering the age of the film, however there are some signs of grain. I would like to be able to compare this disc to the 'Directors Cut' version that was recently released - hopefully the quality can be improved a little.

Extras-wise you're in for another disappointment. There's nothing, zero, nought, a big fat zilch. Brilliant. Nice one Warner Bros. Seriously. Well done.

murtagh is a black cop and mel gibson is white but they soon learn to get on together. Theres a dtrug war going on with some merceneries and they kill lots of people when one of rogers freinds daughter is killed he decides to take action. And theres a lot of it theres a bus crash a helicopter shoot out and a gunfight in the desert when murtaghs daughter is kidnapped
This was the first of many lethal weapon movies and is probably the best tho the second one though with patsy kensit and the white south africans which injects a bit of racist tension was quite good though
