The BBC are switching off what remains of teletext. Time was all channels had a text service with their analogue transmissions, and some kept a version of that technology for digital transmissions. For a long time now, only the BBC has been keeping it alive, although they've been half hearted when they just cross post the text from their website articles, often cutting off half way through a story, and occasionally never even getting to the point.

Am I the only one who still uses the red button to check out news and sport headlines? It's a lot easier that opening up my iPad.

Fond memories of Channel 4's Digitiser...

my dad uses it and my elderly next door neighbour - 2 ppl who don't have the internet, can't remember last time I used it, probably on holiday when couldn't get internet on phone.

I guess that generation are the ppl that will miss it the most, but Excel has told someone it's not worth the time and effort to maintain

I still read its spiritual successor most days on Metro.
Digitiser was ace.
