It's a really brilliant promo. We're particularly good at this self-effacing, original style in this country. Could you imagine the US putting out something like this? It'd be firework displays and inspirational vignettes with the Top Gun theme tune over the top.
That trailer is brilliant, whilst also making a really good point with the cafe.

had the swimming on, waiting for the rugby, then realised needed to change to more 4 for that! Luckily caught the end of what looked like an exciting close match GB Vs. Canada

women's basketball now, I used to play basketball a bit, and your arms get pretty tired as a match goes on, I know a lot of these wheelchair athletes have tremendous upper body strength, but that extra height they need to throw to shoot must take its toll.
it was interesting yesterday during opening ceremony, what they were saying how some athletes don't go to it, as it's 90 mins of so in the procession, plus the waiting in queue to get back to the village after, then waiting in queue to get served meal back at the village, by the time you get back to bed, it's been a long day with a lot of waiting, so unless their event is a few days after they skip it :( Ellie Simmonds looked super happy to be flag waving, but then she normally seems super happy :)

The wheelchair basketballers are just the toughest athletes on the planet. :)

tougher than wheelchair rugby players? They were saying how some of the basketball players move to rugby, if their disability gets worse.
Also said a fair few of the wheelchair rugby players, got their disability from an injury from rugby!
Another thing I liked about the commentary was that they explained the rules, and why play suddenly stopped, and the point system. Also, there aren't many women playing wheelchair rugby, but it is mixed, which I didn't realise, and having a woman affects the points you can have on your team!
JPN France rugby was really exciting, v close match.
the other thing which I like, is it makes even more of a mockery of professional footballers who act like they've been shot at close range with the BFG when someone got near them ;)
someone gets rammed in a wheelchair, rolls a couple of times, and if they can, gets up on their own, or waits for assistance, then carries on like nothing happened :)

saw a bit of judo after watching the basketball, that was exciting, now the rugby final which is v good.
one of the players plays down here, so when this finishes will have to see when matches are, as I'd imagine there will be a lot more interest now.
should be a good Last Leg tonight, last night's was v funny with the wasabi muffin roulette, and Joe Wilkinson doing blind cycling!
