I guess Arsenal aren't the only team that ain't what they used to be!

Two great goals there, first was an amazing strike.

That pass from Ozil for the secondĀ

There's a possibility (whisper it quietly) that we may progress in this comp.

Well that escalated quickly.

Positives: Abuameyang, Iwobi, Welbeck and Mark Hughes misery.

Negatives: Mustafi and Mustafi. WTF was he doing for that first goal.

Must admit to feeling conflicted as I wish Southampton no ill will but they have appointed that knob as manager.

Two red cards! I don't think I'd bother appealing Elneny's, hand contacted face, though I think you could put both down to some p*ss poor refereeing.

Let's not let the Russian cold get to our bones and allow CSKA to sneak back in and make it more difficult than it should be as we can almost smell a Europa final.

I went next door to watch it, seemed to be a lot of shirt pulling down your end, but maybe you saw some at our end I didn't ;)

Was a bit handbags at dawn, but apart from that I quite enjoyed the match, I was pleasantly surprised.

Although from my point of view, it was typical Southampton, we didn't capitalise on your mistakes in the first half enough, and then once you got that first goal you pulled your socks up :(

Wonder if he's going to use it to pick up a pen?

Heh, he got a yellow card, he didn't exactly get away with it!

The referee was pretty poor though, no idea if it would have been a different game or result but he wasn't good.

I think Long would agree with you the ref was poor, he would have benefited from the velcro shirts :)

At least we both thought he was poor, but I'm sure your lot got away with murder being the home team ;)

What was your feeling about the Tadic tackle at the beginning on your new nipper? It wasn't a great tackle, but I thought that was due to the elements rather than trying to bring a nasty welcome to the premiership.

I think there were two studs up tackles he missed that should have been yellows and one could be argued as a red? But maybe if someone had got injured or we'd lost I might have remembered those clearer.

Mind you, there were a couple of yellow card tackles by Saints on their teammates, so maybe it wasn't intentional as you say. ;)
