Page 1 of Play.com delivery going down the Swanee....

Not a reference to the recent floods, but a genuine concern. It seems to be taking ages for items to arrive from Play.com these days, and I was just wondering if anyone has noticed this themselves of late. I wouldn`t have said anything, but I`ve noticed a couple of discussions elsewhere about the same thing, and also have some work mates who are having problems too. I myself have been waiting for my last order which was supposedly posted out on the 19th June.

Has anyone heard of anything regards the service they are using for delivery? I would have been tempted to blame the floods and/or the recent strike, but I`ve noticed later and later deliveries well before either.

Am I just being too zealous? :/

No, you`re quite right - the last thing I ordered from Play turned up about 2 weeks after it was supposed to have been posted. That was at the beginning of last month.

I`ve actually ordered a few things in the past couple of months, as I hadn`t really ordered off there in ages, but they only took 2-3days for each dvd.

Yep I`ve noticed too. Pre ordered Ghostrider and still not got it. P***es me off cos I could of got it in Asda by now. >:(

Still waiting for one posted on June 15th (out of 2 - first turned up 4 days later, which was ok).

Seems the old 14 day wait before anything is done has now turned into a 21 day wait (on oyal Mail advice apparently, which seems to say `yes, you service is going down the toilet`), so they won`t do anything for me until I call tomorrow.

Yeah that`s the same as me; I ordered 3 DVD`s, all of which were posted on June 19th. Two have turned up, still waiting on the last one. I noticed that too: it did used to be a 14 day wait before you could report lost items, and as you say it`s now 21 days. I have to wait until 10th July before I can have make my claim :o . I dunno, but I`ll be amazed if it turns up now.

It`s just particularly noticeable when you consider how excellent they have been in the past. I`ve ordered hundreds of things with no issue in the past. Maybe we`ve just been spoiled!

I`ve always felt Play a day or two slower than some other retailers, but it`s never taken this long for me - but I hadn`t ordered anything in a while before now!

I made an order before seeing this thread and since it`s now Processing I can`t cancel. :( Oh well, at least I`m in no big rush for it! :D

I love play... Never had an issue with them. Ordered a book last week, got it within 2 days.

Actually, when I say never had an issue I lie. A few weeks ago when they did a voucher for £5 off everything in your basket when you spent £50 or more. They didn`t honour it when I ordered ten t-shirts at a fiver each. Play are scum*. Why wouldn`t they give me ten free t-shirts?
