Page 1 of Richer Sounds Rule!

Sorry for the somewhat over-enthusiastic heading, but in the light of all the anti-Techtronics postings, I`d just like to post something that praises a retailer for once - and one that is so different from Techtronics it`s like they`re on another planet.

I just picked up my Pioneer DV535 today - multi-region, RCE aware, for £199 from Richer Sounds in Guildford. They`ve been out of stock for a month or so, but when I called to check earlier this week they said they should have them in by today, and they already had a note of my phone number. The moment the kit came in they phoned me. Plus I got their excellent Supercare warranty - just £30 for 5 years. Something I notice Techtronics don`t offer.

In short, my question is `Why do people even bother with Techtronics when such excellent retailers as Richer Sounds exist?`

BTW if you haven`t read it yet, I recommend Julian Richer`s book, The Richer Way - if you have anything to do with running a company it will change your life. (notice how Asda refer to staff as `colleagues`, and their service got a whole lot better a couple of years ago? They had JR as a consultant)

In fairness I`d like to hear if anyone`s had a bad experience with them, but if you`re looking for somewhere to buy a MR DVD player at a great price, I don`t hesitate to recommend them - I`ve been buying stuff from them for years - and their 14 day `no hassle exchange it if it doesn`t sound right` policy rocks! p.s. they`ve got an ex-dem Philips 710 for £99 in the Guildford branch if anyone`s after something very cheap.

Cheers guys, we try our best! It seems like EVERYBODY wants a DV535, we just can`t get enough of them! The `636 is a cracking player as well...better than their Sony counterparts if you ask me

What`s the chance of any more DV535`s coming in - I guess there`s even less chance of any being available online as they`re cheaper. Also are they RCE compatible. Failing that whats the next best thing for that price range.

Richer sounds is crap, last time I went in there I only managed too escape with 5 lolipops, 4 Mr freezes and a whole casket of Richer sound catalogues.

I always end up buying daft stuff from e.g. a Sony Watchman TV for £50 , I was p***ed at it was nearly 8pm, how dare they stay open so late. I also bought a Monitor audio external DAC for me CD player one night. bastards......

It`s good, but Sevenaoks Sound & Vision in Leicester have Kenko Really Rich at the moment.

I didnt realise how much gear i have got from j r `s shop in newcastle untill i looked at how many cups i have (5+2 ive broken)
never had a coffee of the gits yet mind it may be because i usualy scarper off quick to try my newly bought kit.....baz

What`s this about Richer Sounds selling a multi-region machine for £99?
Is it RCE, and Is the picture good? if so, i`ll take one now!
