RE: SIM card cutting

so, Friday last week I went on the EE forums as I couldn't log into my account, and basically got told to phone 150, which I did, they said they'd sort out my account, but meanwhile it would be quicker and easier to use the app on my phone, so they said they'd send a new SIM free of charge, which arrived today :)

it's the type where you can pop it out to be the size you want.

Can these be unlocked easily? Want to use my giffgaff sim.

They're knocking these out for £99 on Amazon and need a cheap phone in a hurry. Looks brilliant for that price.

on hukd I've seen people posting links to ebay where you can get it unlocked for a couple of quid, within an hour or so after "winning" the auction.

in the end I went for a Doogee x3 for about £30 from gearbest, that's not much good if you're in a hurry though as took a week to arrive.

Cheers. I've ordered one. Looks like they unlock easily enough.

I had a Chinese phone a few years ago. 'Phablets' had only just come out so I felt a bit of a plum with a 5.25" phone clamped to my head at the time. I think it lasted less than a year but hey ho.

yeh, at £30 I won't be too upset if I end up not liking it, if it turns rubbish next time I'll spend more, I was looking at the Moto G, but they now seem not be the good cheap phones they were, good phones still, but close to £200.

From what I remember, the Chinese sellers were actually pretty good at customer service and would probably have swapped the phone without a quibble. I just didn't bother. The phone had a really excellent screen but terrible camera, came with two batteries and a ton of other junk.

I love the daft names they come up with - they probably think they sound cool in english.

n case anyone googles, and finds this, as a whole I'm happy with it, but I've hardly used it as a phone so to speak ;)
a couple of conversations ppl said they had trouble hearing me, but it's hard to know if that's the phone or not, I could hear them fine, but a few other reviews mention the mic having problems.

the headphone socket isn't great, headphones ease out a little so sound comes and goes, as it pauses the track as it thinks you've taken out headphones, so you have to play again, just a swipe to the right luckily but is annoying when walking.

as a touch screen device for internet etc it's great, I've had no crashes etc and ppl moan about these phones build quality, but it's just the headphone socket so far that's a "confirmed" issue, I think apart from that it feels nice.

for the missus I've ordered a Vodafone Smart First 7 for £20

it's not arrived yet, but she wanted a small phone, and not many are any more, and her LG cookie died :(

so, I'm still happy with my phone, i never used earphones on my old phones, I have an mp3 player if I want to listen to music on the go, it's small so no prob carrying an extra device ;)

the vodaphone first 7 however, has a big problem that it seems few ppl, but not everyone has, in that the battery life is shocking.

was on full charge, left if for an hour without using, went down 10%, it's hardly got anything installed on it, I removed all the crap on there i could, and even if it's not used it needs charging every day! so I've orderd a
Lenovo (Motorola) Moto G4 Play

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-motorola-moto-g4-play-black-white-79-99-payg-upgrade-89-99-payg-cpw-2519843

will send the First 7 back, I guess if you're going to be cheap, buy cheap Chinese (although I guess the First 7 probably is) :)

on the plus side got a free sim from EE for her as well as part of switching from t-mobile
