Assuming the DVDs you`ve borrowed have no copyright...since otherwise that would be illegal ;)

DVDShrink has always worked for me though, been a long time since I used it, but I`m pretty sure you had to select the audio tracks.

Also when you say you get no audio, is that when you`re trying to playback via the PC or after burning to another disc?

Both those programs haven`t been updated in years to take into account all the newer copy protection tricks the studios are using..

Try DVDFab here: http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

I still use DVDDecrypter and DVDshrink, but I also use a small program called "Ripit4me" (look here) which works with DVDDecrypter (see here for a guide).
I have been reliably informed by a complete stranger that I once met in a pub, who was wearing a disguise (so I would not recoqnise him - or her, again if I were to meet them)that it worked fine with one of the newer released DVD blockbusters, which they had been unable back up (so that the kids did not destroy the expensive original) previously.

I`ve not heard of a single disc (inc/ Snakes...) that DVDFab can`t do. Sounds like you`re doing something wrong to get no sound...(if you`re getting a picture you`ve got past the encryption...)
