The Minister (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 10th April 2007, 18:57

hello everyone

I would like to know how to create a redirecting frame like the ones on this website. The reason i ask is at work popular webistes like ebay,google,hotmail are all ban on the firewall program so i was thinking that maybe if i had
msn open in a frame from my blueyonder personal webspace would this be a work around.

thanks

No, because when the frame loaded the blocked page, it`d be, well, blocked. :D

Your best bet would be to use a proxy website, or make friends with whoever the person in charge of the firewall is.

If you wanted to create a redirecting frame (for whatever reason) in the future the HTML is:

Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>blah</title>
</head>

<frameset rows="100%,*" framespacing="0" border="0" frameborder="0">

<frame name="main" src="http://www.google.com/" scrolling="auto">
</frameset>
</html>

Edit: They don`t let you use GOOGLE?! :o

Bypassing the company filters? Possible sackable or discplinary offence. Thats why block all the proxy sites too.

yeh we have web filtering software at work, and if you go to a page with a banned site in a frame, you can see the banned message in the frame.

I tried some of the proxy sites they were good, until they included them in the banned list :(

webmail is going on our banned list soon, due to virus possibilities, despite the fact all the major ones scan for viruses anyway :(

They way I see it, rather than ppl spending 20 mins at lunch or every now and again through the day checking hotmail etc for personal mail, they`ll be sending jokes, personal mails throughout the day as more ppl will just use work email addresses :(

They did that at a place I used to work. They banned all net access to absolutely everything, so everyone passed the time by fwd chain emails to each other.

It created such load balancing and storage issues on the network that the policy was revised within a year.

Also, redirect frames are the tool of satan.
