Help! Need driver for Creative banshee 16mb 2D/3D graphics card

ebony.branch (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 19th November 2005, 22:27

At least i think i do, anyway. Messed up the graphics settings on my old pc, so that it can only display either 16 colours or 2 colours, and thought reloading the graphics driver might fix the problem, but can`t find the driver disc and can`t find the driver online.

It`s an old P2 PC running Windows 98 (came with the pc, don`t have the discs for that either).

Can anyone offer any helpful suggestions?

I found this site mentioned on the Creative website, they seem to recommend looking there.

Voodoo Banshee

Choose option `original`, `Voodoo Banshee`, and `Win9x/me` for the search.

I`d try number 5 from the results, I think it sounds like the sort of thing for your card.

Thanks for this, HD462, but the link to the driver download seems to be permanently down.

instant fix is to install XP which will contain a generic driver for the card

I don`t think XP has a generic driver for the card as it is Voodoo 3dFX based. Simple Google search reveals this as a possible source:-

The site mike posted above has a working link to the latest reference drivers-Feb 2000.
These should be ok as they will be tweaked versions of the creative drivers.
