PDAs - which are the best?

RWB (Elite) posted this on Friday, 4th July 2003, 16:08

I have owned a Psion Revo since December 2000, but now I am thinking of upgrading to an all singing, all dancing Pocket PC.

But, at the same time, I am interested in getting a new cameraphone - but not both. So, I need convincing: PDA or cameraphone, and which are the best of each.

TIA :-)

If you get a sony clie nx-70(?) it has a camera on it ("fun" quality only). Top of the range as far as palm PDA`s go. But its not a Handheld PC. By all accounts the Compaq`s are the best in this category. Many come with addons such as camera`s.

I`ve seen good reviews with the new Dell Pocket PCs - seem they are quite well powered and at a reasonable price. Don`t have cameras though.

Me, I`m stuck with a Philips Nino - not bad I suppose but no longer supported. And a little on the big side.

Rik, you have more gadgets than Inspector Gadget himself.

I don`t have too many really. And since posting this thread, I am pretty convinced to go for the Nokia 3650 cameraphone - which is a bit of a PDA too.

I`ve got a Compaq 1910 which is about the lightest PDA on the market, and it`s a little beauty. The price has already come down to under £200 (Dixons sell it for £199 - cheaper elsewhere online).
Can`t recommend it too highly. I sync it with Outlook at work, and it`s very easy to use. Has an SD card slot for extra memory.
The screen is tons better than previous Palms and HP PDAs I`ve used.
It does`t come with any sort of protective case, but I bought a little pouch thingy from Smiths for a few quid, which does the job fine.

No, I don`t have a scooter thingy. Instead I have feet.
