Pink Floyds `Wish You Were Here` album......WoW!!!

Just listening to Pink Floyds `Wish You Were Here` album for the millionth time this week!! What an album! I can`t stop listening to it. I`ve only heard `Dark Side Of The Moon` and `The Wall` and...to be honest...found them over-rated. I haven`t really been a Floyd fan but this album is going to sway me...........

I just know it!!!!!!

:o :o Need to listen to them more then. Wish You Were Here is also a classic. The very end of the album keyboards and fadeout, especially on headphones give you shivers.

The Wall is pretty overrated, but then I dont really get down with a lot of their driving music for accountants stuff.

Give me Meddle or Umma Gumma anyday.

But, yes, Wish You Were Here is an almost transcendentally perfect album. When they played the title track at live 8 I cried tears of pure manliness.

Anyone else seen Shine On, a tribute band?

They are excellent with a very Gilmourish guitarist :D

I like:
Echoes
Cirrus Minor
Careful with that Axe Eugene
Pompeii - Film
Most of the stuff with Barrett.

Also, like The Wall, Wish you were here, Animals and DSOTM.

Perhaps my favourite track if pushed would have to be, See Emily Play :D

Errm have you heard and read the lyrics to In The Flesh part 2 and Waiting for the Worms? Hardly driving music for accountants. Part one of The Wall is pretty solid unlike Part 2 where it has it misses such as Bring the Boys Back Home, and Vera Lynn, but th the rest are classic.

Animals is also very good, with songs such as Pig on a Wing part 1 and 2, try and get the bootleg version where the two parts are joined together with a great guitar solo by Snowy White.

They only went bland when Waters left, and Gilmore took over, Laps of Reason and Division Bell are in my mind very poor compare to Water`s Pink Floyd albums from the 70s, and the inventive lyrics of Syd Barrett.

Also my personal fave is just after Barret`s departure, and was for the movie Zabriskie Point, and it was called Come in number 51 your time has come, I just can`t stop playing this, and fits well with the movie`s ending.
