Page 1 of Toshiba or Sony? Help me decide.

I`m looking to buy a dvd player, but can`t decide on whether to get the Toshiba SD200E or the Sony DVP-NS300? What are the pros and cons of each of these? They both seem to be more or less the same price, but which is the best? Any help on cheapest place to buy is also appreciated. Cheers.

I have neither - so no axe to grind. A friend of mine was going for the Sony, but after reading the reviews on them both, went for the Tosh 210 instead and is well pleased.

I have a Toshiba SD110 and it`s an excellent machine. However, the Toshibas are a bit noisey, mine is. It can be a bit irritating.

You may want to have a listen to both of them.

If you there`s no difference then go for the Tosh`.

I can`t comment on the Toshiba, but it`s worth bearing in mind that to enable region1 playback, the Sony will be a costly venture.

Go for the Tosh 210 it can play anything you can throw at it MP3 CDRs CDRWs VCD SVCDs and cheaper than the sony.

Both machines came out really well in a recent Daily Mail survey the Toshiba scoring 10/10 and Sony 8/10. Cheapest place I found by far www.tectronics.com. They`ll even chip it for multi region for about £10 on a new machine. I`ve been trawling sales myself and still can`t find anyone to beat this site. Friends who have used it for purchaseses speak very highly of service.

I know this is nothing much to do with this subject but does anyone think I`ll gain much in sound or picture quality if I was to upgrade my Toshiba SD100e for the 210e?????

I think this one`s been asked before, Leigh, and the answer was that it wasn`t worth it unless you want mp3 and cd/r playback. The 210 (not the 110) is the replacement for the 100E.
