Yamaha VS-10 Problems

Dave Windel (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 30th May 2001, 13:11

I have a VS-10 connected to a LG3200E - I cannot get it to produce DD or DTS sound. I have checked that the DVD is set to DD but the VS-10 keeps displaying Dolby Pro Logic only on its LCD screen. I am using the standard audio inputs as I don`t have an optical out on the DVD. Is there something I am doing wrong somewhere?

Any help greatly appreciated!

I am pretty sure you need to use the digital optical input to get DD and DTS. You may need a coxial to optical convertor to get it working. Try here: http://www.leconcepts.com/amps/yamamp.htm#yamvs10

Hey, I have a VS-10 as well.

Well, simple, I am very sure that U need a digital connection (be it optical to coaxial cable) from your DVD player to the VS 10 to produce DD or DTS sounds.

Cheers,
Hobbs
