I am pretty sure you need to use the digital optical input to get DD and DTS. You may need a coxial to optical convertor to get it working. Try here: http://www.leconcepts.com/amps/yamamp.htm#yamvs10

Haven`t really had a good look at it yet - I`ve nowhere to put it at the moment! Picture`s fine on the quick look I`ve had at it, just a little confused at the different screen settings you can choose.

Stuart Little R2 and Aiwa 370

Anyone have the above combination? On the intro animation, when panning down the buildings to Stuart`s house (just before the menus), is your animation noticably jerky? I had a problem with jerky motion on some R1 discs (this was solved very kindly by Ironduke), but even after solving those, R2 Stuart Little still jerks on the intro. Just a property of the disc maybe? Hope someone can clear this up.

Ironduke you`re a star! Switch was set to PAL not auto. Many thanks. Still have the problem on the intro sequence for R2 Stuart Little though. May be the disc? Will post in the software forum to see if anyone else has noticed.

Sounds like the problem. I`m pretty sure the output is set to auto. Wouldn`t this output NTSC for R1 discs and Pal for R2? Will try switching to either NTSC or PAL for releveant discs - bit of a bind though!

Aiwa 370 Picture problem?

It is now starting to bug me that on slow movement shots I can see a jerkiness with the picture. R1 Cider House Rules opening shot where the train arrives is one example; you can see jerks in the train`s movement, almost like frames are missing. The opening menu of the kids` R2 Stuart Little is the same as the camera pans down the buildings to Stuart`s house. Am I going to need to send it back? It`s annoying now I know that its there.

There`s a review of it in April`s DVD monthly. Only gets 6/10 as I recall, but mainly because it says you have to buy the subwoofer and rears separately(?). Is this correct mush, or did you get all components for your £300?

www.qed-uk.com do them for £323.76. I`ve always has the Digitheatre DTS as my first choice for when I buy, but the Yamaha VS-10 seems to have more features and I seem to remember it being on sale somewhere for £290. Would love to hear any comparison of the two systems.

BALL_ACHE, I have an Aiwa 370. Thank you all for your comments. Have seen a DTS system for £323 so I think I`ll wait for Christmas to get paid off my credit card and probably splash out in a couple of months for a DTS system.

Videologic Digitheatre Home Cinema System

Have seen this system advertised for £204 all-in. Does anyone have one and is it any good? Seems a great price and absolute top-quality sound is not paramount to me, so a budget system is what I`m after. The DTS version was another £180, way too much more than I want to pay.

Asked this question myself recently. Comet typo is the answer. You have no worries in buying an XD-DV370. Mine came already upgraded to multiregion and the hack works no problem.
