Page 1 of Scan Firmware version 2.04s....

I have just installed version 2.04s and everythink seems great..
No Macrovision. great picture !

When you install it, the firmware reports ADV7172 00000003 and not
ADV7172 00000001 for marcovision free... just use the usual routine
to switch off i.e. SETUP – STEP – TITLE – PREV...

P.S. My machine is from the batch sold 1/11/2000...

OK, so MV is off, but is anything *better* than with your previous firmware (V1.92/3 ?)?. I`m really waiting to see the long MP3 filenames.

Unfortunetly no long named MP3 files in this firmware version..

Never can really tell what the minor changes are on the firmware updates.
Maybe Nelish can request more information from the manufacturer.. i.e. bug fixes and new enhancements.

Maybe in the new year....

Is that 2.04s and is it different from 2.04

I have 2.04 installed and it seems to have fixed the low sound level problem I was having with some DVD`s. I don`t have to turn the sound right up to hear them anymore.

It also seems to have fixed the sound distortion problem I was getting in the right channel of some MP3`s. I`ve played the files concerned a few times and can`t hear any distortion now.

Macrovision is back on with this version coz I can see it shimmering and pulsing. It definately degrades the picture for me :-(

Anyway, I`ve emailed for 2.04s
