RE: WHAT IS DEFINITIVELY THE CHEAPEST DVD RETAILER/ETAILER?

I generally use http://www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk to search for a disc now. It`s handy as it includes p&p to the UK in the total price.

RE: United Devices Cancer Project

The protein target looked weird and when I looked closer the name under it was Anthrax Toxin (P.A.). I opened the main window and at the top left corner it`s got Think - Anthrax.

United Devices Cancer Project

I`ve been running the UD cancer project since last April as a member of the DVD Reviewer team. I`m so used to it running in the background now, that I don`t really look much at what it`s doing. I`m just pleased that I`m doing my bit for cancer research in a practical way.

Anyway, I was a bit surprised to find that I`ve been processing anthrax molecules for the last couple of days. Apparently I`ve been switched to their new anthrax project without my knowledge. To change it back to the cancer project I had to log in to the United Devices website and edit my profile.

I`m really a bit p***ed off at this and it appears that EVERYONE is now "volunteered" for the anthrax project by default. I wonder how many people realise this? Anthrax of course is that terrible disease that kills millions of people worldwide every year............. or could that be cancer.........!

I volunteered my computer resources to help find a cure for cancer and if UD want me to help their anthrax project I should have to opt in to it and not opt out. The anthrax project may be just as worthy a subject to study but not for me.

RE: DVD Reviewers fighting cancer ! PLEASE READ

I`ve just had a look at the results page for our team and I`m amazed. John Willis has returned 8100 results :-)

He must be running a network of pc`s to achieve that many results and damn good show I say!

Oh, and good on you too Dan for getting straight back to the pillocks who run the NHS. You may eventually get through to someone with a brain ;-)

RE: Star DVD`s

Isn`t that their automatic email reply ;-)

RE: URGENT message for ALL ABSound users

Just received a number of emails from A&B Sound about this and read about it on The DVD Forums too.

This looks bad - I haven`t ordered for over a month and can`t remember which of my 3 cards I`ve used with this company. I`ll need to check my statements (if I can find them all) and cancel the appropriate cards. Although their email says it only affects current orders I have my doubts.

According to some of the posters on the DVD Forums, Egg have been phoning up to advise their customers to cancel their cards.

Better to be safe guys and thanks for posting Patrol :-)

RE: Where is the best place to get The Sopranos R1 Boxset?

A problem with buying boxsets overseas is they may incur the wrath of customs.

I`ve never had customs problems with any Canadian suppliers though ( touch wood).

So you could try http://www.absound.ca at £46 delivered though they are out of stock and quoting 2-3 weeks delivery.

Or http://www.video-now.com/ who have the set for £54.35 including delivery but with shipping in 1-2 days.

Hope this helps

RE: can you send amazon vouchers `refer-a-friend` to yourself?

Amazon stores account details by unique email address not by physical address.

This means if you have infinite email addresses (like sirhc[at]moc.htab or efiw[at]moc.htab or sdik[at]moc.htab etc.) you can basically refer yourself. Amazon will see each email address as a different account (a "friend") and send them a voucher.

If your "friend" buys something then you get sent a voucher as thanks and you effectively get 2 vouchers for each referral.

Note that you don`t need to use different credit cards or different home addresses for this to work as none of that information is linked to the email address.

It is of course against the small print as it is supposed to be one voucher per person but you could argue that you are referring different members of your household which is not mentioned in the rules ;-)

RE: DVD Reviewers fighting cancer ! PLEASE READ

I`m on my 3rd task but I`m still showing up as inactive and with no results and no points. I can`t figure that. I hope these results are getting through and I`m not wasting my time here.

I don`t really care about the points for myself but it`s not helping the team much.

Is the UD Agent a bit buggy I wonder?
