[VIDEO] Microwave magnetron stuck to a broomstick

RJS (undefined) posted this on Monday, 4th August 2014, 08:01

Er yeah, some Russian guys decided to remove the magnetron (it's the thing that makes the microwave radiation) from a microwave and stick it to the end of a broomstick and then point it at things.

Glad I'm watching this on YouTube and not in person. :)

Thereby proving you get out of life what you Putin.

'I don't understand it, he was such a nice boy, aways interested in his science' says grieving mother.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Just wait for some genius to weaponise it.

Thats an eye opener, its damb deadly

That beam from an unshielded situation was a staggering 30 metres at least.

Magnetrons have been weaponised in the past, apart from their radar usage.  ISTR there was talk of mounting them on riot vehicles as an alternative to water cannon but the problem was controlling exposure.  The idea was to fire at an oncoming crowd and the rioters would experience discomfort from the heating of water molecules in the skin.  Unfortunately if you ran the thing a second or two too long or too close to people, you cooked them.  First degree burns, etc.
