I think I speak for everyone who hasn't already posted in saying...
s***. :(
I'm guessing you've heard about scalp cooling for helping prevent hair loss during treatment?
But if you do lose your hair, this is the perfect opportunity to get into cosplay! Neon coloured wigs are practically compulsory!

RE: I'm going to hospital today
I've never heard of scalp cooling, but I don't think it'll do any good. I've been told that all the hair on my body will fall out by the end of the treatment.
Probably not, but it's worth a read:

(It's proper peer reviewed science, not some new age alternative therapy junk)
At least you won't have to wax for a bit!

I don't want to jump the gun, Alan, but if I end up doing a bucket list, hearing you perform is on it!
Smurfy the big C is no longer the Big C.
We've got an awful lot of it licked.
Stay positive and keep the humour.

Sorry but that's got "Wax on, Wax off" going round in my head now.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
As Rob said, s**t :( stay positive though, things are much much better nowadays in regards to treatment and keeping focused on a positive attitude (and that goes for those around you too) goes a long way I think.
s***, Sue, sorry to hear that. :-(
As above though, stay positive! I can only imagine that that is far easier said than done but it really does help. And as snaps says, it isn't the BIG C any more.
Please keep us all informed as to how it's all going.
You can well beat this bastard!

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Adding my thoughts and support too Sue.
Not much already unsaid but I would also say contact Macmillan just to keep you sane and stop your head running off on rails, they are very knowledgeable people and will sometimes help with other concerns you didn't even realise were an issue.
Or they'll just be a big ear when you need someone independent from friends and family to listen.
