That`s it really.
Absolutley fantastic news that Abramovich can`t buy everyone.

It would have been a terrible move for him to go to Chelsea. Funny that Chelsea are starting to find that not everyone will go to them.

I dunno. He could live to regret it, like Owen has.

Unless baros carries his form over from Euro 2004 its 4th place for the pool again.

Nah, they`ve got a decent coach now I reckon they`ll have a good year. What have Chelsea won in the last ten years that Liverpool haven`t? I know what you mean about Owen though, he`s been stale at Liverpool for the last 3 years or so.

yeah f***k chelsea. money doesnt buy everything! only mercenaries go to chelsea, ie. robben, veron, crespo, makelele. thats why ronaldinho turn them down. liverpool have a history and heritage and chelsea have none. i hope the russian soon gets fed up and chucks them away

It was the best news I heard all day. When I heard on the radio "Steven Gerrard has decided", I was sure the next words were going to be "to move to Chelsea for £X million" but when they said "to say at Anfield and sign a new contract" you could barely get the smile off my face. :D

A player like Nedved would be a good signing to join him in midfield.

I heard early this morning that he had signed for Chelsea and was gutted.
At a quarter past one I heard that Liverpool had called a press conference for 3pm but thought it strange to announce a press conference for a player leaving and thought maybe they`d `combine` the news with maybe some (Thai??) investment news.
Then I was told about 15 minutes before the press conference he was STAYING and couldn`t stop smiling but still needed to hear it. I listened to the radio at 3 and when they cut live to it, to hear him say he was staying was fantastic and the best news the club has had for a while.
There is not a doubt in the world that if Houllier had still been there then Gerrard would be a Chelsea player now.
Apparently we`ve had talks with Ballack too. Baraja, Ayala and Aimar also being looked at.

Cheyrou, Diouf, Traore are almost gone I think. Murphy could be going and I think Hamann too. The clearout is imminent....
:D :D :D :D
