I cant sleep in my Peugeot, any ideas?

richardbradley66 (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 28th May 2003, 02:48

I need to work away from home for 3 nights a week and as this is expensive staying in Hotels/B+Bs etc, i want to be able to sleep near to work and without excessive cost, in my vehicle.

Is there an alternative to a VW camper (nothing against them but too big for my needs!!) as sleeping in my car is just impossible without waking up with a twisted back or neck.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Camping?

Mind you, one of my favourite little ditties is called "Camping" (I think by John Hegley) and goes something like this:

Tents
Nervous
Headaches

Buy a cheap 2 man-plus tent, an army surplus camp bed and an expensive sleeping system/sleeping bag. For real luxury, pick up a Goretex bivvi bag - you can sleep in a shallow river in one of these and still stay dry.

Or buy a bigger car.

Where do you need to work then?
I have heard that EASY group are starting a hotel chain, prices begin at somethign like £5 per night. Things are basic and I think you supply the linen and pillows.

Will that help?

I used to commute to London from Ashford, gave up the job and worked locally, best thin I ever did, although did take quite a salary drop.... worth it though..
