Quote:
The NES Classic Edition is a mini replica of the company’s first console, which was released in the U.S. in 1985 and became an instant hit. The original device revived in-home gaming and housed some of Nintendo’s most iconic titles including Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda.

No idea how much it will cost, or if you'll be able to use games that don't come with it...

...and sorry if you thought it was the new new Nintendo. :)

Probably cheaper (but way less legal) to get a Raspberry Pi, emulator and controller adapter...

Developers hid a message for the hackers:

TL;DR version:

Quote:
"This is the hanafuda captain speaking. Launching emulation in 3...2...1. Many efforts, tears and countless hours have been put into this jewel. So, please keep this place tidied up and don't break everything! Cheers, the hanafuda captain."

Apparently a (probably unsurprising to some) market in clones has sprung up since it was discontinued:

I wanted one of these first time round but never imagined Nintendo would stop making them while demand was so high but couldn't bring myself to pay the ridiculous prices scalpers were charging so I'm glad they are bringing it back.
