A useful petition for home cinema collectors to change how discs are rated.
This is a useful change in the regulations, removing the requirement for certificates to be physically printed on discs, allows smaller distributors to share stock with overseas distributors, reduce costs or manufacturing their discs in the UK to prohibitively large print runs, and gives niche titles (especially foreign cinema) a better chance of being released in the UK.

Apparently mine is the 14th signature, and it will be open for an entire year. I'll be interested to see how many signatures can get added in twelve months.

An amazingly sensible petition! Such a small change could make a big difference without impacting anyone else at all.
I was the 15th signature, I think this needs more exposure.

actually couldn't really see a downside to this so have signed it. It looks like it's some kind of legacy thing which hasn't really been thought about in a long time, as they say...

There is no downside to amending this out-dated segment of the legislation.Actually, the only ppl who may not like it, are those odd ppl who don't liek to have their collection on display, nicely sorted, but take discs out of their boxes, and keep them in wallets ;)
