Is this definite? I have the Region 1 disc which is 106m 26 seconds. However, many people are unaware that, as Pal video runs at 25 fps as opposed to NTSC-FILM at 23.976 fps, all Pal video is played about 4% faster making the movie appear "shorter." This movie also appears to have a difference of about another 25 seconds which is unaccounted for after this is worked out. The BBFC states that this is due to technical reasons, whatever that means.

So are fox planning to realease a version shorter than the previously submitted video run time of 101m 45s?

DVD review mag says that predator and predator 2 have "near perfect" picture and Dolby 5.1 sound.
as to cutting, my VHS copy is "102 mins (approx.)" on the box, and all of the sites I`ve checked give 102 mins as the running time...what`s your definition of cut ?

`stick around` - you arent confusing it with a scene in `the running man` perhaps?

the Melon Farmers site says ...

(cert)18 106:31s 1987 US film by John McTiernan (Twentieth Century Fox, idescreen)
No cuts listed by the BBFC but the film appears to exist in two versions so perhaps this explains the fact there are many reports of cuts. I guess the distributors have submitted the toned down version for UK release

Wot we need is an R1/R2 comparison.

The R4 copy is 103 mins
R2 is 102 mins
R1 is 107 mins (NTSC frame rate accounts for the longer time here)

This would suggest that since the R2/R4 are both PAL, the R2 version is probably cut (either that or Aussies round up, whils Europe rounds down :-))
