Downloading :D

I`ve got a 56k modem, so it will take while, but you should get rid of the compression warning. Reason I say this is that DVD is also compressed. And it makes it sound like the video quality is actually s***. Don`t defend your work unless you really have to ;)

Although you did shoot on a single chip camera didn`t you? So the images won`t be of a high quality anyway. Not always a bad thing as documentaries are shot on a wide variety of cameras, from broadcast quality to single chips. And I`m talking professionally there, so no one should fault you for the equipment you use on an amatuer production (After all, MiniDV is great quality whatever the camera).

Got trouble downloading ...I`ll keep trying though. Maybe too much traffic initially?

From the trailer Rik, I have to say I am impressed on all fronts.

Well done. :)

Thanks. :)

I had a complaint on TheDVDF from some guy saying that one shot`s dialogue had an echo to it - hence why the compression disclaimer will stay there; the DVD itself is much better quality on all fronts.

Just seen it.

echo?

Sounds more like reverb (which always sounds awful when compressed, so I can see why you might want to keep the disclaimer). I try to stay away from rooms with lots of hard open surfaces and little furniture. Did the room have a carpet?

It isn`t a great file, as there seems to be some sort of corruption (that wavy line in the middle of the frame) all the way through it. You need to get another quicktime converter me thinks ;).

The shaky cam does seem excessive (technical glitches aside), but I`m sure it will all seem quite ok as a full feature, rather than a trailer :)

So how many DVDs have you sold? Is there subliminal porn spliced into it? ;) :p

I haven`t actually got a figure yet - more pre-orders right now. Is anyone interested in buying a copy?

Haven`t downloaded yet so reserve comments till then but sounds promising....echo`s usually a consequence of wide-miking, though the `hard wall` comment is valid. :/

I`ll probably get one just to support you. Rik. Don`t want to sound patronising but I think someone who we all (kind of) know who has put so much time and effort into actually producing a DVD feature deserves at least a tenner!!!

You never know, I might get a bit part in your first Hollywood blockbuster!

Nick
