Yeah, that doesn`t suprise me. Speilberg DVD`s are generally shi*e for extras. I was really disappointed with the E.T. DVD release and although not strictly Speilberg, the Back To The Future films on DVD have got crappy extras too and shockingly bad audio commentry.
For some reason he doesn`t want to keep the fans interested.

The reason there are no deleted scenes on the Indiana Jones DVD`s are that Spielberg and Lucas believe that the films are perfect as they are and so deleted scenes would detract from that. I can`t say I agree with that but that is their choice. Must say I disagree with the comment that Spielberg DVD`s are not that good for extras, I think they are probably amongst the best in terms of what they offer to the viewer, the only thing missing is commentaries but Spielberg firmly believes that they take away the magic from the films.

Close Encounters of the third kind was good for extras, but the rest of spielberg dvds such as E.T. and Back to the Future were p*** poor.

True...Spielberg should lighten up!!! How would he like it if he was in a cafe and he ordered fish and chips and only got the chips????

Same applies to his DVD releases! If he did commentaries then they would be the chips and the film would be the....er?....fish!?!....er?.................I think? :/

love the analogy there andy. brilliant

you can imagine two bearded waiters coming up to him with a plate of fish and going, sorry sir. we believe the fish is perfect on it`s own, and the fish would only spoil the experience.

`well, what about a knife and fork?` says the beard

erm, well, they should be along in ten minutes, but surely fingers are the easier way to eat the fish

well, ok then. but, could you tell the other customers to keep it down. it`s ruining my concentration on the meal im affraid.

You`re off your f-ing rocker if you think the E.T. extras were bad.

What about Jaws and the extras on that?
There`s no pleasing everyone , but the end result is that the films you are dying to see are finally coming to DVD.
Enjoy them.

There were no deleted scenes, no alternative ending, there was only one trailer, when I`m 100% sure there were tons. The rest of the extras are on this infernal Total Axes site, but unless you have a multi region dvdrom its pointless.
