I reviewed it here: http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/reviews/comments.asp?DiscIndex=3001

I`d recommend it.

Ok, you people! Sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we`re not back by dawn... call the president.

Im fixing to buy this release also,[one of my FAVOURITE all time movies], Ive already gave away my old copy in preparation. Your review doesnt mention if there are any great differences in the actual movie, [I understand this to be a new cut], anyone seen this could give me info?

apparently one in five people in the world are Chinese. Coming from a family of five therefor one of them must be Chinese. Its either my mum or dad, my older brother Colin or my younger brother Mao Tse Cheung. I think its Colin.

It`s worth paying more than 9 quid for.

Great film, great extras, especially a proper `Alternative ending`....none of this `Alternative Ending that turns out to be a Storyboard` rubbish.

I have the Region 0 version, 1 disc but still has proper footage of alt ending - not worth paying extra for though !!

"might be better off for the region 1 as has a dts soundtrack as well..."

Now, I read this in a mag ages ago, when the specs for the region one was announced, as the reviewer had a good grumble (and rightly so), that the R2 didn`t have the DTS soundtrack that the R1 had.
But since then I`ve searched high and low for a R1 copy that has a DTS soundtrack but all the ones I`ve seen on sale have just been DD5.1.

So does the R1 really have a DTS track? Is it on there as an Easter Egg and therefore not readily shown on the box? (as in the case of Monster`s Inc).

All copies of the R1 2 disc SE have dts, e.g. this one on amazon:-

Knackers! :o(
