The final word: is it worth upgrading to the EE of FOTR, taking everything into account?

This includes the audio issues, price issues, overall quality of the Extended Edition etc...I own the theatrical cut, someone I know wants to take it off my hands for £8 - so do I go through with the sale and then have to fork out an extra £15 to get the EE off Play?

All opinions are welcomed. :)

£8 when its only £9.99 new ? Thats a good trade. The extras on the 4 disc version are far superior to the shoddy selection of duplicated documentaries on the 2 disc which should have been cut down to the longest and best of the documentaries. It may be cheaper on cd-wow (who are currently doing some site maintenance so I don`t know). As to the extra footage, it all depends on how much you liked the film in the first place and whether you`re a fan of the books.

TBH, my copy is just as new so £8 could actually be considered a bargain! LOL! Plus, the buyer has the added privilege of owning something that I once did... ;)

I will shop around before ordering, thanks for the tips. :)

Do it Rik!

The 4 disc `Fellowship` is one of the best sets I`ve ever seen!

Great picture, great sound, great extras, great packaging, and most of all a great film made even greater by the great new footage.

All in all.......great!

While the extended cut is obviously the better of the pair, [the DTS soundtrack alone is simply a MUST have], I prefer to have both cuts of the movie, keep the theatrical version and jump right in for the 4 disc cut, both are worthy of anyones collection.

apparently one in five people in the world are Chinese. Coming from a family of five therefor one of them must be Chinese. Its either my mum or dad, my older brother Colin or my younger brother Mao Tse Cheung. I think its Colin.

Yes, the DTS track is s***e, but the Dolby track is amazing.
