Anyone having problems with R0 version of Once Upon A Time In America?

I recieved mine in the post this morning, courtesty of Play.com. However, it will not run on my DVD player or PC DVD player. After trying it at a friends, it ran, but struggled.

Please help.

I got the Brazilian one from Ringos (RIP). Don`t know if its the same version, but i`ve had no problems.

Yes, the Brazilian version is 4:3.
Play.com have a R1 version for preorder on 20/8. Interesting to see what this is like. No other R1 site has it listed!??

According to Robert C Cumbow in his book Once Upon A Time: The Films of Sergio Leone Leone`s rejection of the Techniscope frame in Once Upon A Time In America was dictated by the practicalities of a video market consciousness. But also the characters are trapped in the city rather out in the freedom of the wide open plains. So it seems it was filmed in 4:3.
