TV DVD Combo

Zippy123 (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 29th February 2004, 21:20

Its my son`s birthday in March (6 yrs) and he really wants a telly in his bedroom.

If I bow under the pressure and get one, I would like to get one with a DVD player built in for Finding Nemo etc, but it also needs AV inputs for the Xbox.

The best I have seen is a Bush at Argos or a Proline at Comet for £100.

Has anyone seen any better deals?

Thanks...

I`ve just bought a nice Goodmans (GTV34R2DVD) from Index for £100.
Seems to have a decent array of AV connections and is multi region via an easy remote hack.
Hope this helps.

Zippy123

My daughter has a Bush DVD142TV combined TV and Video player which was bought from Toys R Us for £149.99. this was one year ago.

We went to all of our local stores checking picture & sound, and at the time for the money this bush set came out, in both of our opinions the best.

It has been used almost daily since it was bought, and it really has got a crystal clear picture, lovely colours, and for such small speakers, very good sound, which also is in stereo when the DVD is being used.

As for the AV inputs, I have the user manual in front of me at this moment, and on the right hand side front it shows a row of 4 sockets,

one is a headphone socket, two of them are Right/Left Audio sockets, and the other is a Video input socket.

Are these the inputs you need for the Xbox? if they are and you can pick up one of these Bush combo`s for a good price,I can highly reccomend it

Hope This helps,

Gary

From the picture, it`s the Bush DVD-142. There`s a full spec on the Argos website, and a review here. Looks to be multi-region - the review says it is, and there`s a hack listed in the hacks forum. My order`s in, so I`ll let you know when it gets here. Anyone want to buy 50 crappy movies?
