RE: John Barry (The man who didn`t write the James Bond Theme) dies.

My fave John Barry theme might be The Persuaders but his music was certainly light years ahead of the others that also did the Bond movies.

Apart from Goldeneye all the rest of my Bond soundtrack cd`s are John Barry ones.

RE: 2001: The Extended Edition?

I doubt the Kubrick estate has any say so on most of Kubricks films except as a courtesy from Warner.
They didn`t waste time after Kubricks death releasing A Clockwork Orange in the UK when he had specified no UK screenings for more than 25 years.

Warner have apparently stated they do not intend to release the original cut as it was first presented by Kubrick before he changed his mind.
But if they try and sell a new Bluray which is the same as the one we have now except for 17 minutes of deleted scenes I don`t think the sales figures will be anywhere near as impressive as a new Bluray that holds 2 versions of the film.

Give buyers the choice .
Deleted scenes out of context are boring as hell so keep the shorter version for purists and new cut with the scenes reinserted into the movie where they were in the first place.

How many will double dip for some deleted scenes?
Not as many as will for a new version
