RE: Spoof Ebay Bargains

Thanks CDR but already done so, only posted in case anyone taken in.

Spoof Ebay Bargains

I appreciate this area is for posting bargains and saving money. Well follow this advice and you may just save some money. There is another spoof e-mail doing the rounds which preports to be from ebay. It claims to be bargains at ebay this autumn and looks to all intense and purposes to be ebay. Click the link and it takes you to www.autumnbargains.net and asks for your user name and password.

DO NOT ENTER ANY DETAILS.

It would be wrong of me to suggest that you could enter false details and this would screw up this atempt to pinch your correct details. Do not enter false details only once enter them several times if you receive the email, that will keep the happy little spanners busy for a while.

Please remember never to give out your password to anyone and certainly not by email or email link

RE: Aldi Medion PC next Thursday - 499.99

Hi all,
I have had the "higher" spec model since it was released and can only praise its performance. I do quite a lot of graphic design and find it excellent. The kids also use it for gaming and it literally ran all summer (our kids are back at school now) without a break. It plays all games and I am currently working my way through Colin Macrae 4 and the graphics are stunning.
With regards to noise, this is my third Aldi PC and I can not complain about the noise because there is none.

Great machine, great performance, great price.

RE: Free £25 Bet - This is Good

Help anyone - I may seem very thick but when I log in to Binary bet I get a screen in four sections, Betting, Live Prices, Open Bets & Info - but I do not see any "prices" anywhere. It also says to click on any green button but I do not get that either. I am just being thick or an I missing something simple. Your help is appreciated.

RE: The worst bargain ever PS2 bundles at Game

I know this forum is for posting bargains but I am sure as this thread has started this will be okay.

My friends son was beaten within an inch of his life a couple of years ago and is going through a long rehab programme. He wants a ps2 for xmas and I said I would check online to see if I could find one.

I would therefore appreciate any hints as to were a ps2 might be found, (does anyone know if you can still get the old model?)

Your help is appreciated in advance.

Thanks Big Tron

it should be at the bottom of your e-mail

RE: Gamecube bundle for £32.99 - Virgin and Tesco back down!

Having heard nothing as of yesterday, I phoned and asked what the position was and when would I receive my order. They phoned me this morning confirming that there was a e-mail on its way and the "bundle" would be dispatched on Friday at the original order price. E-mail reads as follows:

Recently you placed a request for a Gamecube Colosseum Black Bundle from
Tesco.com Entertainment site. At the time, this item was incorrectly listed on our Entertainment site and a mistake was made in the price quoted for this item by our supplier. Quite apart from this, the Gamecube Colosseum Black Bundle was not in stock at the time that you placed your request as it is a special edition product that
our supplier was having difficulty in sourcing. It was because the Gamecube
Colosseum Black Bundle was not available, that your request was not
accepted.
Firstly, please accept our apologies for not being able to supply you with a
Gamecube Colosseum Black Bundle at the time of your original request and for
any inconvenience this may have caused, especially given that we are so
close to Christmas. Tesco is committed to offering excellent customer service and the best on-line shopping experience. So we have worked tirelessly over the last few days
with our suppliers to secure a limited amount of stock of the Gamecube Colosseum
Black Bundle from Europe. We are now able to supply you with a Gamecube
Colosseum Black Bundle and, because of our commitment to customer
satisfaction, and as a gesture of goodwill, we are also willing to honour the originally
quoted price of £33.24 + standard postage and packaging costs subject to the
following terms:
Conditions of offer: Only one Gamecube Colosseum Black Bundle can be ordered and supplied to you. As we have only been able to secure a limited amount of stock we have had to limit our offer to one Gamecube Colosseum Black Bundle at this price
regardless of the original quantity requested. The amount stated above will be billed to the original credit/debit card stated in your original request and despatched as soon as we receive stock to the delivery address supplied on that request. E-coupons submitted with the original request will be honoured - Our standard e-coupon terms and
conditions apply. Without any admission of liability on the part of Tesco in respect of your original request for the Gamecube Colosseum Black Bundle at the misquoted
price, you agree that your acceptance of our offer to sell one Gamecube Colosseum Black Bundle at the above price settles all claims you may have against us in full in respect of your original request. To accept this offer you must reply to this email within seven days. This offer will not be valid after midnight on the 9/12/04.

I would suggest if you have heard nothing, then give them a phone, they are obviously prepared to honour theses orders but I think you might have to "remind" then.

Good luck

RE: £700 Aldi PC next week

I used to build my own PCs, in fact I spent a small fortune upgrading all the time. When the first Aldi came along I priced the individual components and it would have cost the best part of £1500 to buy.

This model is even better as it comes with a three year warranty - now if you build it yourself, who pays for the warranty?

I won`t go to the trouble of breaking down the individual components but I would reckon you would struggle to buy them for under £700. I would like to be proved wrong if you want to work it out.

RE: £700 Aldi PC next week

I have owned two Medion PCs -the first one was a 2.6ghz with a CD writer, which I sold and bought the same machine with a DVD burner.

It is on permamently and has not failed me once, the fan be super quiet. The machine lives in our living room and is not noisy at all. I have added an internal 160gb hard drive and also two 160gb externals. I do a lot of photography and prepare slide shows for companies - hence the requirement for space. I have burnt hundreds of DVDs and only occasionally have they failed -more likely the discs than the machine.

I have two teenagers who play games on it - if one playing the others waiting - and recently they have been running Sims2 and Half life2 wih no problems.

I hope to be able to afford this weeks offer as I would like to pass my current machine on to the kids and that way I might get access when I want. The only recommendation I would make is to increase the ram to 1gb.

Ronnie - a very happy medion owner

RE: Best Bargain Of 2004 Awards!!

My vote goes to Reestit Mutton (by the way, why Reestit Mutton?)

I am writing this on my £110 Dell with double memory and take calls on my O2 free sim card. My son uses his £15 Sagem from index, from whom I also got a leather jacket for £32.50 after using the LX discount code) Also received £20 of vouchers from M&S because they couldn`t supply a bed for £4.95 (no wonder their profits are down today)

Reestit has got me checking the forum ever day (several times) to find out what`s new.

Thanks Reestit, you get my vote! :)

RE: Dell Dimension 4700 PC for £235 (no monitor) [was: Dell 2400 for £106]

Dear Iron Monkey,
I really don`t know why I am bothering replying to this thread, other than to say I have received a Dimension 2400 and it works perfectly. I have to ask why would I say I have received it if I had not?

RE: Dell Dimension 4700 PC for £235 (no monitor) [was: Dell 2400 for £106]

Dear all, (and laughing gravy)
It appears that the pc pixies have been busy, TNT have just delivered a shiny new Dell Dimension 2400 computer. Haven`t switched it on yet but I assume it is all there and not a figment of my imagination.

Thanks again to the original poster (Reestit Mutton) . The only thing I can think that might be different is I ordered in a company name as opposed to personal.

Anyway, got to go and switch on my new Dell (with extra memory) and see how it performs.
ps it only has pci slots, can anyone recommend a good pci graphics card?

yours Big Tron

RE: Dell Dimension 4700 PC for £235 (no monitor) [was: Dell 2400 for £106]

;) ;) ;) ;)
Receive letter by post today from Dell - basically an invoice fro my new Dimension 2400 for the grand total of £110.45. It has double memory as well (now 512mb) According to online ordering tracking the package has arrived in this country and is on its way.

So yipee - look forward to seeing if I can slap in a large graphics card and let the kids play the power hungary games.

Cheers and a big thanks :D :D

RE: Marks And Spencer Bed - Reduced to £4.75

8) 8) Having received my vouchers for £20 I can truly say I have received infinity more than I could have ever expected.

Please, all chill out a little - no court in the land would honour a deal like that nor would I expect them to.

Lets just keep looking for more bargains and cut the sniping - I would have mentioned the £20 if I thought it would cause what I can only describe as "sad" people to vent so much of their spleen. ;)

RE: Marks And Spencer Bed - Reduced to £4.75

Big up to mortisian,

ordered bed never expecting to receive it. Phone received same evening explaining it was a mistake and it would not be dispatched and my credit card would be credited.

Received a letter from M&S this morning again explain it was an error and due to their terms and conditions the order had been cancelled ------- ALSO ----- "please find enclosed a £20.00 gift voucher as a gesture of goodwill"

What a result - total cost ot me - £0

Total profit £20 , thanks mortisan, I am off to Marks to spend my £20
