RE: xp laptop harddrive back up

admars ,

I`ve just looked at the instructions, but to me it did not look like it was how to back up the hard drive, so that if a disaster happened I could use the 2 dvds to restore my hard drive

xp laptop harddrive back up

Hi All,

haveing just legally reinstalled windows xp home with out the original disc on a friends laptop,

Is there an easy free way to burn one or two dvds for recovery, so that if the same happens again I just restore the hard drive contents from the 2 burned dvds.

Clonezilla looked likely, but is unclear what I am about to do

thanks

buying ex-rental blu ray titles

Hi All,

To stop idol scroungers, I am mulling over an ex-rental blu ray of Sherlock holmes when the time comes.

Is it usual that ex rental discs come in different boxes or have other diffarences such as a degraded picture or sound.

thanks

o music question

Hi All,

At about 1.30 to 2pm on 27 jan,
i was watching o music via sky.
The video i`d like to identify was female curly blond hair and playing double base or chello.

Not being a regular, i don`t know how to get the play list, i had a good look at their chart and at amazon, but did not recognise any thing

thanks

RE: sky broadband question

sky broadband question

Hi All,

One of my inexperienced friends has sky broadband.
They need my help with the tg 585 v7 modem-router.

I would appreciate a link to some thing like the manual or some set up instructions.

thanks

RE: royal mail---compensation claim

Mr Basbat,
do you have any ideas for the content of this letter that you sugest, please?

royal mail---compensation claim

Hi All,

As I live in rented-shared accomodation I use a po box that is known as a business service.

Not sirprisingly i have to pay for a whole year of service at a time.

Having just enquired about a reduction on my renewal fee to take acount of the strikes just before xmas, I was told where to go.

Their excuse was that the strike was not of their controll.

dosen`t comon contract law mean any thing?
no body at the time, about 12 months ago told me about the posibility of a strike near christmas.

If a shop sells me a 6 pack of beer, then at the till I notice one is damaged, an employee sorts things out properly so that I am not out of pocket

thanks

movietyme question

Might any body know a recently answered telephone number for movietyme`s uk office, please?

It appears that some light fingered employee at royal mail has `borrowed` my blu ray box set a second time in barely 2 months.

they don`t answer emails.

I even paid the £2 delivery premium

their number ending in 7253 is no longer in use

thanks

RE: Why do dog owners think it`s o.k to let their dogs crap all over the footpath???

surely fines totalling two weeks income or less should be paid with in 28 days, or a visit from the baliffs.
prison just means the scum gets away with it.
community service at the rate of one hour per pound of fine would not hurt the scum

RE: Tabloid newspaper question

The offer to post a scan would be greatly appreciated

RE: Tabloid newspaper question

That`s excallent,
That is the main `news paper` that we have at work

So that I might find the item on their website, could you please guide me any more, please?

thanks

Tabloid newspaper question

During the first week of december 2009,
I saw a cartoon picture of a polar bear on a bit of drift ice paddleing toward copenhagen.

I would be interested to know if any one could remind me which paper & day it was

thanks

RE: mail order and receipts

jesus wept!!!
As earlier my gran lives 200 miles from me!!
i pay an internet seller with my card details to deliver the boxed gift at my expence to my gran

RE: mail order and receipts

jimbo an interesting possibility. Trouble is rm won`t start a claim for at least 3 months after the item was sent. RM could save money by replacing the item physically rather than the alledged value and save money. Surely a prosecution would not be out of place too.

The motivation for not wanting the receipt including is that the item is a gift, the recipient(my 90 year old gran) lives 200 miles from me. All she`ll do other wise is look at the receipt, and gasp horror, spoil her undies- more than £5 that`s far to much and `loose it`

mail order and receipts

Hi all,

Dose any one know why I`m being fed some clap trap that it is law that internet sellers must put an invoice in the package incase of a claim being maid to royal mail
the item is only going from one part of the uk to the other.

surely if the invoice is with the item, both will get lost together. So not much help to any body

thanks

RE: have amazon uk gone `jiggly bits` up

yes this is what line 2 above says,
i ask because even several hours later after confirming despatch, no payment confirmation has been received

do you come from Essex!

have amazon uk gone `jiggly bits` up

has any body sold any thing privately on amazon uk recently?
i ask because even several hours later after confirming despatch, no payment confirmation has been received

the sale appears genuine in that it appears in my amazon seller account

to my mind the contract only exists when money changes hands
i can`t refund the customer money not given to me

thanks

RE: mister smee sky broadband question

seriously i used to be with tiscali they did not object to me using my own modem-router.
i`m now with bethere, their support quite professionally helped me connect with my modem router

I truthfully believed that sky would eject any one discovered to be using their own modem router. It is alledged strongly that they can easilly check

dose any one her give a toss if milesr gets a slap aroung the mouth

sky broadband question

Dose any body or indeed a nobody have any idea how Sky legally shackle customers to there modem/router.
As I understood it it is practically possible to use any modem-router
I also believe that there is legally such a thing as an unfair contract

I`ve never heard of an ISP doing this before
I use my phone on a bt line, i use supermarket fuel in my mercades. My washing machine works perfectly well with the relivant powder from the local shop. Nobody gives a toss here.
