royal mail---compensation claim

jemma (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 19th January 2010, 15:28

Hi All,

As I live in rented-shared accomodation I use a po box that is known as a business service.

Not sirprisingly i have to pay for a whole year of service at a time.

Having just enquired about a reduction on my renewal fee to take acount of the strikes just before xmas, I was told where to go.

Their excuse was that the strike was not of their controll.

dosen`t comon contract law mean any thing?
no body at the time, about 12 months ago told me about the posibility of a strike near christmas.

If a shop sells me a 6 pack of beer, then at the till I notice one is damaged, an employee sorts things out properly so that I am not out of pocket

thanks
jemma
