RE: Picture grain???????

What player are you using?

This may have something to do with it!

RE: PIONEER DV 360

Just to explain about Pioneer players!

The DV454 is a much better cd player! Pioneer were obviously a hi-fi company before the world of home cinema and dvd players. So the extra you pay for this machine is for the hi-fi quality!

It has a feature called burr-brown in it, this a DAC, digital to analogue converter!
This little chip will give better cd playback.

The previous model dv-444 was a cracking machine with noticable cd playback quality.

Hope this helps.

RE: Expensive VS Cheapo Cables!

Expensive leads do make a difference!!!!!

Profigold leads are what I use and have noticed an improvement across the board!

However, how far are you willing to take it, I know people that have spent hundreds of pounds an Scart cables! I think you have to limit it somewhere!

Gold plated 99.96% oxygen free cables do make a difference, and they wont break down over time!

As you can probably tell, I am in the trade!

Calling all Panasonic DMR-50 Owners!!! - Advice Required

I have an E-50 and have recently purchased a macrovision disable box! Its made by Holden - its call a videomax.

It seems to work okay, however there is still a shimmering line at the bottom of the screen! If you disconnect the box, you get no picture at all, so the box is working!

However, my friend recently purchased an E-50 and if you connect to his without a macrovision box you get a perfect picture, bet when you press record, it says you are not allowed to copt this product!

Why is it that when you connect to mine, you dont get any picture and yet on his you do? You obviously still cant record, but when you connect the Macrovision box to his, he doesnt get that shimmer at the bottom of the screen!

Is it the macro box? If so, any suggestions on another? Poss the sonel one!

RE: Blank DVD-R Media for Panasonic DMR E50 - Compatibility Question

I have an E-50 and have hade major probs with disc compatibility. On my first order I bought 25 Bulkpaq orange 4x discs. Every single one work no problem.

My second order I bought some Datawrite 4x red top and none would seem to work.

Sent those back and ordered some more Bulkpaq, the first few worked fine, but suddenly I started having probs again. So much so that I started to pee me off.

I have spoken to lots of people, being in the trade! And the general feedback is not to use cheap discs! I have been told Datawrite are very low quality! Bulkpaq not much better. My friend has a E-20 and uses Verbatim, and never had a problem.

I have just placed an order for some optodisc, it states no problems with panna machines. Guess we will see, I hope they are okay, just ordered 50 of em.

I think its a case of trial and error.

RE: panasonic dvd-r compatibility probs

The Pioneer should play them! I have a DV656-A and that plays everything!

I sell Pioneer dvd players where I work and Pioneer boasts to play all formats. Mine plays both + & -

RE: panasonic e 30 recorder problem

Hi,

I have the same problem with my E-50! After about 40 seconds the machine will shutdown and go into recovery mode!

After talking to loads of friends, it is down to disc quality! Verbatim are apparently the best! But are expensive! I have had this problem with both Bulkpaq and Datawrite 4x red top discs. It is very frustrating! I was concerned at first, thinking my machine was knackered.

I use a site called www.ukdvdr.co.uk.

I have just ordered some of there optodisc models, it says that these work perfectly on our machines. Give them ago! I will let you know when I get them.

Hope this helps?

RE: Sell-through price of DVDs

Hi,

When you buy these sell though DVD`s, you are buying the rights to rent them aswell. (If your a rental outlet).

This is the version that rental shops would have to buy, in order to rent them out. These discs recently have become rental versions, stripped of extra features, just the basic film.

RE: City Of God

I have heard a lot about this film, but have never watched it.

Is it any good?

RE: Panasonic DMR-50 - Disc Problems - Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Thanks for your help guys.

I have been in contact with the company that I bought them from and they have a agreed to give me a full refund! Posted them back this morning.

I have re-ordered some of the Bulkpaq Orange discs, used them before and they worked perfectly!

The company I used are called DVDRUK, they are very well priced and up to now have given excellent service. Highly recommend!

Regards.

Panasonic DMR-50 - Disc Problems - Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I recently ordered some blank DVD-Rs for my Panasonic DMR-50, they are the Datawrite Red Top 4X DVD-Rs!

Placed one into my recorder last night and it recognised the disc as being a DVD-R as usual, however after about 30 seconds after pressing the record button the machine rejects the disc and the machine goes into RECOVER mode!!!

I have used Bulkpaq Orange discs before and never had a problem, why is it that Im getting a problem with these, is it just a compatability problem? Or have I ordered the wrong discs.

Is there anywhere on the net where I can find out what discs will and wont work?

Hope somebody can help, Im at a loss. What makes matters worse is that I ordered 25 of them!!! Thats life I guess!
