i can get hidden engineers details by going to "setup" then "prefrences" and typing 1379
but iall it gives me is version number etc

try one of the following
try the open draw and press 2812 for possible secret menu

or

eject so tray is open
stop 1 9 9 9 - for possible hidden menu
stop 1 4 5 6 - followed by region code number 0=all
i.e. stop 1 4 5 6 2 for region 2
or stop 3 3 5 8 - followed by region code number 0=all
i.e. stop 3 3 5 8 2 for region 2

or
open tray
Stop 1 4 5 6 followed by region i.e for region 2
press stop 14562 - use 0 for all regions
or alternatively try
open tray
Stop 3 3 5 8 followed by region i.e for region 2
press stop 33582 - use 0 for all regions
open tray
stop 1 9 9 9 for hidden menu or possibly
stop 2000 or stop 2001.

or
1. Press the DVD function on your TV set.
2. Press Setup on your remote control.
3. Press 1, 3, 7 and 9, in order, one at a time.
4. Select this option and using your remote control, change it to 1
for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback.

working hack needed jvc hr-xv1

hi there!
ive tried to use the lg5000series hack by burning discs and trying them in my jvc but it wont recognise any of them cdr/cdrw all makes all burnt using nero6.
can anyone please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

this definately works i just got this tv/dvd so i know this works:-
1) Hit setup.
2) *Go to the Preference tab
3) Type 1, 3, 7, 9
4) Hit the up/down arrow to change the region number (0=multi region)
5) Hit enter
6) Hit setup.
7) Play!

jvc hr-xv1 hack!!!!

hi there!
i have burnt 5 dif discs using the lg5000 hack that is suppossed to work on the jvc xv1
but it does not recognise any of the discs!!!!!! i have used cd-r cd-rw on dif brand discs
please can some one help!!!

i too have burned 3 disc on different media "maxell,verbatim,tdk" but the player doesnt recognise any of them!!!!!!!! can anyone help me?
people here on this page say it definately works so i must be doing something wrong! or there are some xv1 that cant be made mutiregion
i am using nero,and burning a data disc and just adding the "RTM0000"folder,is this correct?

back to the future(box set)

hi there i just recieved my boxset from wow.com(£17.99)excellent value but im confused as the release date for r2 is dec02.
are these genuin discs as the box they come in is a single box with a large spindle with all three discs on top of each other.
looking at pictures for the release boxset it shows a foldout style box with each disc on its own part.
anyone else who has this boxset can you tell me what style boxset it is please

i rang alba as soon as i got this player on two seperate occasions
1st the guy on the phone said that was a code to switch on vcd playback but it was more than his job was worth to tell me it!
2nd the guy said the other guy should not of told me there was a code,and he could not help me!(what a git!!!)
when i rang the switchboard was for bush/alba
