:o Holy crap, it`s true! Yes it`s really the final ever series of this fantastic futuristic comedy, and it`s prepared to go out with a bang! Matt Groening, David X Cohen, and the rest of the gang have done a superb job making this show a hell of a riout, and while series 4 might not be Futuramas best; it still has that innocent charm to it. The episodes within this series are probably the second weakest, next to series 3; but that`s nothing bad, oh no, far from it! The episodes are funny, clever and at times the saddest of the four series. You see as this is the shows final series, the creators decided a little more depth was needed, that is why throughout there are many tear forcing episodes, including the fabulous "Jaurassic Bark" and the series fanale "The Devil`s Hands Are Idle Play Things." The characters have all changed in their ways and are setteling into their jobs at planet express, meaning they are now feeling many mor and deeper feelings for each other. But wait, don`t worry, none of this means the show is now a animated drama, hell no, it` still hilarious as it ever has been, it just means you can enjoy series four knowing there is a much deeper and meaningfull to the hilarious mayhem. The special features are great, and offer mostly like the previous series boxsets; the highlights once again of many, include the commentary, which is both funny and offers a deep explainig of the episodes. The sound quality is nothing superb, but neither bad, in fact it`s fine, just perfect. The picture on the other hand is wonderful, the 3D moments on the DVD`s come across perfectly, and all frames run smoothly, with not 1 artefact in sight! The animation is colourful and full of on screen jokes and fun. So, while this may not be the best series of Futurama; if you are a fan of the show, you must watch it, and get this boxset. It`s quite simply superb, great special features, great animation, sound that will satisfy, and a show that`s clever, funny, interesting and meaningfull! Well done Matt Groening and the team, you always manage to deliver! Buy this series on DVD, don`t miss out, cause if you do, you can "bite my shiney metal ass!"

The 4th (and, alas, final) season of Futurama is here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Fry is still stuck in the 31st century, with all the usual jokes. But damn, it`s all over now (with or without closure for Fry - find out for yourselves).
The video transfer is as good as it was in the previous series. There are no compression signs and picture is pretty clear of defects.
The DD 2.0 soundtrack is ok. The surrounds are used occasionally and provide a decent sound envelope.
The menus are animated with sound.
The extras include a commentary for each episode, several deleted scenes, animatics, a picture gallery, a drawing lesson and several storyboards.
Bottom line - good bye Fry, Leela, professor Farnsworth and Dr. Zoidberg. I cannot believe Fox were idiots enough to terminate this brilliant series. Fox` executives - as Bender says it all too well: "Bite my shiny metal ass!!!". :)
