Sounds pretty good to me - I`ve been looking at the cheaper options for the wife`s xmas present...

I don`t know if the following is a good or bad point against Acer - perhaps one of each...

Bought Acer from Asda or Tesco couple years ago with free 3 year warranty but what a job i had getting help in 2nd year, eventually tesco paid me £400 as Acer customer support and it were awful, id say avoid myself, but if u do buy try thru high street retailer

One of my friends has an Acer, the speakers are crap. Very tinny. Maybe this has improved (nearly 2 years old now), but if it hasn`t your daughter might be disappointed if she`d be using it for music and films.

Very good point about the sound but my wifes Fujitsu sounds like a wasp in a bucket. I wouldn`t have thought many of them were any good without external speakers.

Ebuyer have about 4 or 5 different makes at around the 300 mark. Which would you go for?

I`ll have to jump soon otherwise I`ll be sweating over delivery in time for Xmas.

Funnily enough just going to get it tomorrow.

Staples have a Fujitsu Siemens 5535 for £299.

i think ebuyer have that same one too.
Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535 Laptop Intel Celeron M processor 530 1.73GHz 1024MB 80GB 15.4" DVDRW Windows Vista Home Basic Edition
they also do it for £300.18 but u can upgrade the ram to 2GB for a total of £314.18.
whats the memory and hard drive spec of the staples deal?

Im prob goin for this too.

1GB and 80GB.
Rather deal with Staples. Had a bad experience with Ebuyer and their convoluted returns policy.
