Toolbar help please

Exile (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 31st August 2004, 22:10

Hi

I seem to have `acquired` from I know not where (could it be from `shockwaves` I d/l?) a new toolbar called i-search.us which I can`t get rid of!

I can right click the browser and uncheck the ttolbar and get rid that way but it returns in all new windows. If I go via `start` and `control panel` and try to remove it through `add/remove programs` I get a message saying `An error has occured while trying to uninstall i-search.us toolbar. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove i-search.us from the add/remove programs list?` It seems to allow that but then the toolbar is back when I reopen a browser window!! >:(

I have tried a `find` for the software but cannot find it using the words i-search - anybody klnow what I can do to rid myself of this pain?

Thanks all :/

I`ll get me coat...

Or try the iSearch Toolbar uninstaller here.

:/ Thanks guys but neither worked. This i-search.us seems different to the one above. I have tried all I know (not a great deal) to find it on my PC but to no avail.

I am desparate to rid myself of this unwelcome and uninvited piece of cr*p - any other suggestions out there? Pleeeeasssee! :D

While I have your attention. My screen sems to `flash` quite a bit when adverts/pictures are on it. Do I need to update some of my software to be able to view these correctly? For example, when I only have text from this page in view all is OK but as son as I scroll up to include slipperysam`s picture it starts to flash/jump.

Thanks in advance ;)

Click here to download CWShredder. Close all browser windows, click on the cwshredder.exe then click "Fix" (Not "Scan only") and let it do it`s thing.

When it is finished restart your computer.

Go here and download Adaware 6

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------ON=GREEN

From main window :Click Start then Activate in-depth scan (recommended)

Click Use custom scanning options then click Customize and have these options selected: Under Drives and Folders put a check by Scan within archives and below that under Memory and Registry put a check by all the options there.

Now click on the Tweak button in that same window. Under Scanning engine select Unload recognised processes during scanning and under Cleaning Engine select Let windows remove files in use at next reboot

Click proceed to save your settings.

Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Restart your computer.

If that doesn`t work, try this
