You can only drive it to a pre-booked MOT test (& away again in the event of a fail IIRC).

As for driving it & pulled over:

You won`t be insured (points & fine)
You will be driving without a MOT (points & fine)

Mate is MOT tester so I get the rules & regs quoted at me where a subject strays into VOSA territory.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

Yep

The only time you can use it now is to drive to an MOT station by the most direct route in order to attend a PRE BOOKED MOT test.

yep... if i stop you No MOT = Invalid Insurance = I seize your Vehicle Which means you pay for recovery and storage, and you get Summonsed to Court which could mean a Ban depending on Court Result!

As all above!!

Marksparks, I know a PC in the D&C and we were discussing traffic offences in general, when he told me that his Sergeant had told him not to bother with anything else apart from the original offence of no MOT. He wasn`t very happy about it!

Does it matter what MOT station you go to??? I always go to a friends garage as I trust him, but he is not the closest.

It does not matter which one you use, It has to be pre-booked ie if marksparks stops you on the way you can provide details you are en-route for a booked m-o-t and the garage can confirm this.

Invalid insurance is worth 6 points on your license, plus the lack of MOT is a few extra. If your license isn`t clean already, and you get stopped, you`re almost guaranteed to lose it, so I believe.
