Have just seen this unit on sale at Big Pockets for a mere £69.99.
On paper, this unit looks absolutely fantastic. However, I can`t vouch for the quality or reliability of the unit, as I don`t own one. So if anyone knows more, perhaps they can post here?

Bought two digifusion freeview recorders each one lasted about a year and then died. Just changed the last one at Currys for a Humax which looks better and has 2yr warrenty. Has lots of good features such as PIP and of course £40 quid extra.

These boxes are Crap with a capital `C`. Powerpack overheats.

Bought the Aldi one for my son for Xmas. They`d had a lot taken back but thought I`d chance it as I heard an over iar update was happening on the 8th. Update didn`t happen, faults with ours were noisy hard drive, and lost channels every time it was put into standby. You had to rescan the box each time you turned it on.

The guy said they`d had loads back, seems to be always the case with the last few they`ve done. Why can`t they get them right before selling them. It was a nice looking box, and with good features if it had worked right.

We have a Liteon 5055GDL+ with 250gb HDD and dual layer dvd writer on our main tv downstairs. Had it about 6 months now, and can thoroughly recommend it.

They suck. I had one for about three months before the PSU gave up (common problem).

I now have a Topfield, can`t reccommend it highly enough.

I also has one of the aldi ones when it was fiorst released 12 months ago.....it went back two days after I bought it.

My mate stuck with it hoping the s/w updates would cure it. They have made it better but its still not perfect.

I had one of the first ones & it gave me almost fault free service for 11 months (no better or worse than any other) & it was changed at Argos for the newer one that has a new power supply. The new one has been fault free since.

Todays The Day. Tomorrow can wait...
