How much dosh was your first DVD player?

Hello all,
I`m new here so please forgive if this has been asked several times before, but how much did you pay for your first DVD player? My first player was a Panasonic A-350,which cost me £500,and I paid £80 to have it chipped for multi-region.That wasn`t much more than three years ago.I am just totally blown away about how the format has taken off and the drop in prices in such a relatively short space of time.I can only hope that DVD recordable and DVD audio are even half as successful.DVD totally rocks, man!

ps-I sold that player in May last year at a secondhand shop.Got the princely sum of £45 for it.Depreciation sucks!

RE: How many DVD`s have you got?

Just bought number 130 today as it happens.

Any cheapish DVD-Audio discs around?

Hello,
I am totally new to DVD-Audio (just got Queen-A Night At The Opera),but the format seems most impressive indeed, even though I only have a standard DVD player, the Pioneer DV-444.I would certainly like to get more titles, regardless of the genre, but I am a bit loathe to shell out the like of £17.45 (which I paid at amazon.co.uk) for each disc.Certainly not whilst I am still buying a DVD almost every week to replace my old videotapes anyway.Does anyone know where I can get discs for a bit closer to a tenner,or will I have to wait for the format to really take off the same as DVD video did? Any recommendations would be most welcome.
Many thanks.
