so 1st episode like 1883 starts with a bang, A list cast, breathtaking writing again by Taylor Sheridan and a welcome VoiceOver by my favourite actor of the last year Isabel May who was the breakout star of the series as Clara, this one I think will be Aminah Nieves who was extraordinary, I honestly struggle to see how these shows make money back because they must cost a fortune to make!! Unfortunately I think it may be another show that will lose a lot of its cast before the finale, I dont want to say too much but definitely WWAW

so up to episode 4, can't say too much for fear of ruining it so any spoilers I post dont go near unless you have seen it, the cast are wonderful, acting not surprisingly superb and like 1883 the women of the family, all of them are in control and Helen Mirren is fearless and fearsome leading the family when she needs to, the Africa scenes are just breathtaking in so many ways and seeing these characters eventually come together should be amazing!!

Episode 5, its back :) my per peeve re US television is the gaps during the season, iv lost so many shows this way!!

So more heartache for the family :( the last of us is probably lauded as the best show on TV but this for me is head and shoulders above it, I know high praise indeed, the script like its predecessor 1883 is just beautiful and almost poetic, the cast the best on TV by a country mile and the cinematographer is knocking it out the part.

This episode moves the story along at breakneck speed on different levels helped in no small part to Claras VoiceOver and ends on a cliffhanger that leaves me desperate for the next episode, definitely for me the top tv show since 1883 and that's high praise these days

So episodes 6 and 7 and 8 and it seems this is the end of the 1st season?? I feel the show is now very fragmented now, the storylines still not even near to the ranch has found me in episodes 7 and 8 playing silly games on my phone, some of the stories I really enjoy especially the Native American girls horrific treatment at the hands of the church and the basic ranch are good but the travel home from Africa for the hunter and his girlfriend is verging on soap opera territory , high brow but still soap opera and Timothy Daltons BDSM obsession is again unsettling but completely overdone and seems only there for titilation?

Unlike the vastly superior 1883 which was 1 story with numerous sub plots this seems to be numerous stories they are desperate to weave into a conjoined central ark but its dragging on a bit for me and I have no idea how the Native American story connects to the Y ranch which is frustrating
