Just amazing again.
I agree, in a strange way a series is only as good as its finale - so have maintained it was slightly too early for others to say BCS was better than BB. A disappointing finale would have left it just short for me - but it wasn't - so what I thought was the best TV Series I'd ever seen has just been eclipsed.
SPOILER:
I'd mentioned that Saul really didn't deserve a happy ending so when he didn't get one I felt strangely sad too - but totally accepting. The post credits touch was brilliant and really lightened things up quickly again.
As for the episode, I loved it. The 3 flashback scenes with 3 of the most influential people in Saul's life (Mike, Walt and Chuck) were all so poignant and revealing of Saul's character. For the time travel question, Mike went literal and would have stopped his life of crime before it happened - thus also preventing his son's death. Walt the scientist berated the science before answering what Saul was really asking - regret etc.. and the Chuck scene was probably what inspired the question in the first place with the HG Wells book on the counter top - and also why Saul rarely, if ever, regretted anything - just like his idol and brother, Chuck.
I was initially happy enough with the 7 year plea deal but even Saul, having heard that Kim had fully confessed finally realised that was not enough or just. Repeating the previous 'confession' but then going off script at the key moment was again brilliant.
The closing Kim scene, both sharing a fag, leaning against the wall was just perfect - and a full circle of the first scene we ever saw them in.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..
Thinking about it a day later...
SPOILER:
The bit where Walter points out to Jimmy that he was always bad, and that is just who he is, felt a bit like "I'm the one who knocks", just a moment of honesty that flowed into his admission in court.
Also kind of what I meant was, we shouldn't really judge a series on it's finale. 😂

Evan Peters seems to have won his award for all his great previous roles, rather than his latest one, that was such a non-performance. :(
And how House of the Dragon beat... well... anything, let alone Better Call Saul I have no idea.
Kind of makes it hard to celebrate award winning shows when ones like this get beaten.
