Screenselect delaying returns ????

mortal (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 22nd March 2006, 19:03

Has anyone who uses screenselect noticed a delay when returning discs.

until recently when I returned a disc it usually showed up on their system the next day (2 days at the most). for the last couple of weeks its been taking 4 -5 days after being posted to show up. It makes no difference where posted from.

a cunning ploy to delay sending discs out quickly ? :/

Had no problems here. Been with them about 18 months and always had a fast turn around.

During thier month long free trial, it was fantastic. Thye then charged me the wrong amount and were quite rude when I called to point this out to them. The turnaround time has slowed down considerably. Thinking of going back to Amazon who have a month free at the mo. To be fair to them, Screenselect have a better choice than Amazon though. (:¦

ScreenSelect were excellent when I first joined, the turn around time was superb, and I got all my top titles.
6 months later I was waiting 5 days + without them sending anything! I wrote letters of complaint and phoned, but they just werent interested (although they credited me with 3 days free!! Wow! :D ) Due to that insult I have left.

It`s obvious these DVD retailers are all the same, they treat all new customers great, then 6 months later they think you won`t leave, wrong!

I`ve just moved to Sainsburys - I got a mail Friday to say they`re sending me Flightplan and Transporter 2. They`re not even out until Monday, but they obviously want to impress me as a new customer :D

Switch and take advantage of a month free somewhere, wait until they get crap and then switch again.

They register them as returned quite quickly - 1-2 days. But lately they sit at `awaiting allocation` for days. :-(

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Well I just sent 2 back yesterday. Had them swapped for 2 new discs ready for sending to me already. Do they have different warehouses around the country? Did you used to belong to Video island before they merged? I was with SS before the merger so thats the only reason I can think your service would be any different from mine.

i think they all go to the same place in London. i was with dvds365 which was taken over by SS. I`ve noticed similar comments on other forums. I just hope they haven`t got too big and go the way of lovefilm

Not having any problems myself - have been with them since they took over DVDS365. Can only think that you either have titles that are in high demand in your list, or that they are deliberately controlling your service as they think you are using it too much. Their T&C`s do say that replacements will be sent by the next working day.

It`s definitely advisable to have a balanced list with some titles that are likely to be in low demand. I also noted a distinct improvement when I moved from my old DVDS365 package to the Screen Select package (at no extra cost!) and also again after I took a payment holiday for two weeks. Try making a change to your package, even if it means downgrading to two discs for a month.

I have also noticed this recently. Another thing - how bad are the quality of the discs. Just about everyone I get is a total mess.
