DVDImport - Any good/customs friendly?

Chris Gould (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 24th April 2004, 22:36

They have the cheapest R1 edition of the Star Wars trilogy, but I`ve never used them and know little about them.Anyone had any experiences, good or bad, that they`d like to share? I would use DVDSoon, but I hear that they get stung more often than not nowadays.

I`ve used DVD Import on occasion and never had any problems relating to Customs. I think it debits your card before shipping as well, like DVD Soon.

From my own previous purchases AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

They dont reply to e-mail messages and take the money immediatly which DVD Soon do but at least they deliver. My last pre-order with them ther order was still showing "Pre-Order" 3 weeks after release and never responded to my e-mails. In the end the credit card got the money back and 6 months later my order still shows "Pre-Order". The Canadian version of the late SplashDVD.

Everyone has their own experience so it`s a shame yours wasn`t pleasant. I`ve never had a problem getting refunds or product in good time.

Have used them a few times, most things delivered in 7-10 working days.
Use these now in conjunction with DVDSoon, depending on price

bit of a mixed bag - I`ve ordered about 3 items from them, but after they messed up an order and I found out how bad their customer service was I`ve avoided them.

Very similar to Graham_H. I used to speak fairly highly of them then I had a run in lasting 6 months or so to get a disc they said was `in stock` :o

Wouldn`t touch `em after that and would rather pay a couple of quid extra to know I`ll receive it this year!

:( :( >:( Would not touch them with a brage pole. Had to ring Canada twice to try to get a refund in the end my Credit Card company got me the refund. Never again.
